Texture: sometimes stretch marks feel kinda strange when you touch them. Hard to describe.

From what I see in your photo, I don't think it's stretch marks.

Can you have someone take a better photo? Also, if you believe they are forming and dissapearing, take a photo every day for comparison.

Believe me you get stretch marks from growing too fast. When I was 12 I was fairly short and stocky. By the time I was 14 I had grown seven inches taller and put on one hundred pounds. I have stretch marks everywhere. My shoulders, under arms and side, my belly and thigh region and probably some that I can't see.

Stretch marks look like the skin was pulled and stretched and left a line of smooth skin with little perpendicular lines throughout and the main mark tends to be jagged almost like lightening.

The picture look more like scratches than stretch marks and scratches can take years to look like normal skin again - I think it has to do with how you body heals its injuries - but stretch marks are forever! Even for a man.

Aren't shingles extremely painful? Surely the OP would have mentioned that.

Do you lift weights, work out in a gym?

Sometimes you can get small bruises from pressure lying on typical gym benches.

Definitely NOT stretch marks. Maybe you should get an X-Ray done to see if there is anything beneath the marks

Agree, it's probably an alien tracking device!

I have stretch marks all over my back, doctor says they are stretch marks, everyone in my family says they are stretch marks. I have never been " over weight," They appeared around grade 10, I started playing rugby in grade 8 and by grade 10 I was 163lbs 6oz, far from fat. The doctor proposed it was possible it was a combination of my natural growth spurt and spending 2hrs in the gym every day, and rugby practice 3 days a week and 1 game day a week. How ever my stretch marks look different then the ones pictured here. They are longer, thinner and run vertical, I'm perplexed by these images, and I do believe you are referring to my comment. You look to be in good shape, so I would have been even quicker to suggest you are sporting similar marks to me and a few others on my team, as well as in other sports. I have to say they almost look like finger width burn marks. upon reviewing your image I have no idea what they are bro. My marks looked the same colour as yours at my peak, now that I've dropped to 150 and 25now, they are almost a gray raised mark... Typical of stretch marks upon weight loss, I'm still fit and have a very low BMI, but I can't gain any weight. I'm sure in 10-15 years I will be complaining I can't lose it, but I would suggest seeing your doctor just in case. Unless my doc lied to me, and I'm an abductee as well ha ha, I wouldn't stress it. Eliminate the normal, before you deem it paranormal.

Do you have time lapses? Do youre Ears or Head bother you allot? Have you seen Lights, Shadows, Orbs? I have been taken before! I know what you are going through! Have you had any Telepathic Abilities? Please dont worry! I am out here in NC- I know! The best protection from these creatures is a Male Dog to keep with you while you are sleeping! Keep a record either written or typed on youre computer of strange things that happen to you. I have had these same marks before, not knowing where they came from. The Aliens have messed with my right ear and left eye. There are many others whom have gone through the same issue. Just try not to worry and go about with life! Go to school and work and put this aside! But keep notes on what is going on! I am here for you! You are not alone!

Okay so I posted a thread a few weeks ago.
I thought I was abducted by aliens,..
And I suddenly had strange scars/lines on my back.
I started having these last year, I never injured my back or anything.
Here is the full thread:
www.abovetopsecret.com...
^It's better if you read that thread first :L So you know all the information.

Okay so someone said it could be stretch marks.
So I just took a picture of it with my webcam, it was really hard
to press 'Take picture' when you have to take a picture of your back xD
I currently have 5 of these lines on my back.
You only see two of them on the picture though.
I know it's a bit blurry, I don't have a camera or anything.
But I think you can see it quite good

Are these stretch marks or could these be scars/lines from an alien abduction

Those aren't stretch marks. First of all, it's uncommon to find stretch marks on that area of your body without them appearing in other areas first. (If they occurred naturally, of course.) Second, they don't form horizontally like that. If they were stretch marks, they would be vertical. Third, it's hard to tell by the photo, but they almost look raised. Stretch marks aren't raised. In fact, they they are depressed. Meaning, that the scarred area sits lower than the surrounding skin.

The only way I could see these as possibly be stretch marks is by an unusual injury of some sort, but I feel certain you would remember that, and it's unlikely that if you were to have "stretched" the skin with an injury, that they would have formed so uniformly.

As far as being abducted, I can't add anything to that one way or another. Do you by chance own a cat or a dog? If you do, let me briefly pose this to you as a possibility. The only reason why I'm suggesting this, is because I've had this happened to myself. I will play with my dogs, and sometimes their nails will scratch me in the midst of playing without me realizing it. Later on, I'll discover scratch marks. A few times I didn't put the two together at first, and it was a little unnerving not knowing where this came from. Later on, however, I finally figured it out. Just a thought?

Unfortunately for the people saying they can't be stretch marks...they are. I have the same thing, horizontally across my lower back, and they appeared during my growth spurt oh so many (okay...about 10) years ago.

If you don't believe me, believe eHow Health: What Causes Stretch Marks on the Lower Back?

As a pregnant woman who's actually having stretch marks, I can tell you that those are not stretch marks my friend. Assuming you mean the red lines on your back. Stretch marks are the same color as your skin and look like faded water marks of shiny skin. And usually they look like waves of three or four or even more because that entire area of skin has stretched enough to cause it.

the logical explanation is that you have a spring poking out your mattress.
but then again this is ats, so yeah probably aliens.

When the stretch marks on my back first appeared, they were reddish. Also, the ones in the picture at the link I posted above are very red.
Mine stayed red for several years. They're finally skin colour (and hardly noticeable...just your typical scar tissue now), but that's a recent development. My ex-fiancee has stretch marks from her pregnancy, and some of hers were initially red.

You know what they say: you can't judge a stretch mark by its colour.

My wife's theory on your situation: the blood vessels under your skin are stressed they can break, tear or pop, similar to what happens in a bruise, and looks like a laceration under the skin.

Way more polite than what I thought, right?

She's a medical care taker, so I'm siding with her on this one, with obvious preference.

No, why would I joke about this?
The reason why I made this thread is to find answers, what those marks really are.

I don't know what they are but they are not stretch marks. I am not so sure it is scratches either but the pic is not very good. I know it is difficult to take a pic of your back, but you might want to try standing with your back to a mirror then using a cell phone to take a picture over your shoulder of the mirror. Just make sure you can turn off the flash and try to zoom it in.

Have you considered seeing a dermatologist? If it is a skin condition, that is who will know.
