Well for doomers and skeptics alike 21st Dec 2012 will be a day none can ignore
Great excuse for a "What if " scenario party
How do you intend to spend that day?
For Celts it is called the "Nameless Day" or Winter Solstice and occurs annually.
Doomers will heave a big sigh of relief or not
Skeptics will be able to smugly say "I told you so" perhaps
But most will be focusing on the 25th and celebrating Christmas.
No one really knows what tomorrow brings or what is around the next corner
So best live each day as if it could be your last and be glad it probably is not.

I was just thinking recently that we've had an extremely mild winter here in the southern US and flowers that hadn't bloomed in a couple of years are all coming out. Planted my little garden last weekend, the earliest I can remember for some time. For some reason it seems like the "quiet before the storm."

Dont look a gift horse in the mouth. Yes, we had an extremely mile winter. Some here say , no winter at all, and I agree. However last winter and the winter before that were bad. Extreme cold, lots of snow in the northern regions of the east coast, NYC and the metro area were under heavy snow many times. There are some years when its like that. How does mild equate with disaster. I thought the weather was great this winter. How are more flowers and pretty gardens a precursor to disaster? I dont get it.

The phrase "The quiet before the storm" comes from the maritime stories of the very mild weather that usually happens just before a hurricane. In fact, its these quiet areas of the ocean that fuel these storms in the first place. The quiet, calm allows the water to heat up and when the storm moves over the warmer water it causes the storm to grow larger and more powerful. Just a little BTW for the folks out there who might be interested....

December = freezing times for me. I doubt I'll have much time to scurry away in the event of some sort of shift or large displacement of water. I'll be going down with the ship.

I have heard so many people say that they are positive that nothing will happen on that date.

I don't know - and you don't either. Really-really.

I wish to call this a shift in consciousness, and deep down I want it to be another day, but on some level whatever is coming feels necessary and unavoidable.

If it is another day, maybe it'll give a breath of air for many to start anew with their lives.
