"Saddam's lawyer Giovanni di Stefano told Denmark's B.T. newspaper that Saddam decided during one of their discussions that he would declare his
candidacy for the elections."
Contrary to the statements of Iraqi Interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi, Stefano claims, "Saddam has no chance to be tried before the elections.
Moreover, no international law prevents him from coming forward."
It would be hilarious if he would get elected as president. Well, if the people wants him back then should he be allowed to return since that is the
basis of the democracy that US wants to give Iraqis.
I'd expect, with all the fighting, that saddam would probably end up with something like 20% of the vote. Probably not enough to win, but I'd
seriously like to see him try.
