Attention OWS- Please read if you care about the movement

I feel like this needs to be brought to the attention of some of those who have the ability to speak on behalf of OWS. Hopefully someone who can get the word to them reads this and passes it along. I'm sure some of you have heard about the alleged plan to blow up a bridge in Cleveland by a few self proclaimed anarchists. I was reading this article on foxnews (yes I know) and the end of the article worried me.

The individuals charged in this plot were intent on using violence to express their ideological views. The Joint Terrorism Task Force will continue to be vigilant in its efforts to detect and disrupt any terrorism threat, domestic or international," Anthony said.

It is unknown if the bridge incident was connected to Occupy Wall Street's plans for nationwide protests Tuesday.

It worries me a bit that there is starting to be a connection made between OWS and terrorism. All it would take would be for one attack to be carried out by a few idiots and have them claim to be affiliated with OWS for all hell to break loose. This would give TPTB all the ammo they need to shut the whole thing down and deem it a terror organization, and we all know how the government deals with terrorists. So some high ups in OWS (if there are any) have to come out and denounce these actions and say any similar actions are not associated with them. It might almost be too late if they don't. So anyone who believes in the cause please flag this so this finds the right person to get the message out. Peace and thanks.

I just read this on my local news in Cleveland. This is a bridge that I drive on twice a day. Below the bridge is a heavily used towpath and scenic railroad route. The full story will soon come out about this case. Those same trails and rail routes travel beneath the Ohio Turnpike and also I-480. Two major and heavily traveled routes.

Oddly enough there was just a 99% Spring Training training class held at a personal home of someone in the town of Peninsula just south of the apparent bomb plot location. The location first appeared here but is no longer present. civic.moveon.org...

They are already off to a booming start in Oakland

I have been to a few of the baltimore general assemblies. I guess it's hypocritical but I have a house and bills to pay and a job to keep so I can't just leave for NY. This is the world we live in....

Well that really turns me off. The problem with having a rebellious movement that is open to anyone is that it allows the idiots in. I was drawn to this movement originally because everyone I spoke to in Baltimore had a strong stance on staying peaceful through the process. Any violent actions are sad.

It's now front page on foxnews....I can almost guarantee OWS will be connected with domestic terrorism as a quick avenue to shut it down. That's why I think it's important that someone with a voice up there come out and denounce any sort of violent anarchy. Otherwise this will snowball pretty quickly.

Why are people mad around here whenever terrorists get caught?
The more thay catch the better.
They are not gonna be walking alone down the street with a scarf over their heads blasting an AK47 into the air screaming Alah Akbar on their way to planting bombs poking out if a backpack. They are going to be hiding in groups of people who are out in the streets already, who are mad at their own country and were given an avenue to express it.
Makes perfect sense to find terrorists among OWS.

OWS was created so the terrorists could operate out in the open. If you attend you are nothing more than an innocent bystander waiting your turn for a toe tag, a worthless piece of meat to act as human shields for the perpetrators operating in the backgound. You are an insignificant replacable componant of the collective hive.
If they plant a bomb they are not going to tell you OWS sheep where it is, you may be standing right in its path. But you will have done your duty to add your body to the pile of maximised carnage.

And if OWS was created by the TPTB as a way to setup a plan to increase their police state by staging a domestic terror situation and blame it on the organization (as it appears you were hinting at), then you're partially right I guess. But what you fail to realize is what this movement has done for people like me. I'm talking about people who before OWS were completely apathetic to the corruption that plagues our government, economy and social culture. So if it was "their" plan, it will end up backfiring on them. Their goal is to keep people blind, not to wake them up.

Here's another story which goes right in line with what I said:

Three new envelopes containing suspicious white powder were sent to New York City banks and news organizations on Tuesday, along with notes suggesting the sender sympathizes with the Occupy Wall Street's Day of May 1 protests, police said.

They sympathize with OWS, so they're not officially with them. Yet OWS still is being implicated.

So your position is because they sympathize with OWS they should get a free pass and be allowed to engage in biological warfare?

The things people say around here are unbelievable. Total detachment from reallity.

This is so clearly problem reaction solution, right?

Problem: People are waking up and seeing how real the corruption is and organizing against it. This is their biggest threat.

Reaction: Attach the movement to terrorism anyway possible and easily convince everyone not involved in the movement to strongly oppose it. All they have to do is say it threatens our national security and get people scared of it. The herd mentality will take over and everyone will follow (same thing that happened with 9/11)

Solution: Deem OWS a terror network because of either a few bad apples and break them up or have their members face terror charges.

Anyone else see this happening? OWS has (for the most part) stayed peaceful. And it has to remain this way. Any violent action will be used as leverage against it.

No! Come on read my words for what they are, good lord. All I said is that by linking OWS to these kind of actions, it creates a negative public perception. No where in there did I say they get a free pass. Why do you keep putting words in my mouth?

So I can be as clear as possible for you:

-I support PEACEFUL OWS protests.

-I do not support any violent protest.

-I wanted to try and start a thread on a site that I know many pro-OWS people visit to see if maybe someone up in NY could see that the media is going to try and link these anarchists with the peaceful movement. I was hoping maybe they could denounce these actions before it's too late and OWS is hated in the public eye. Clearly this is a longshot but why not try?

You are desperately trying to defend OWS by saying they only sympathize with the movement. Guess what, everybody that shows up to OWS and chants to the bullhorn is sympathizing with the movement. So no difference they are both one and the same.
