It is a first person account by one of the people that hunted for and found where the Eagle was parked. As you'll learn, the Eagle's landing site was not determined until 11 days after the landing and required according to NASA; analysis of 16 mm film, flight data and other photographic data.
The group that this man worked with though was the group more responsible than any other for finding the Eagle. If you really are interested in Apollo, read it with an open mind. By that I do not mean read it with a mind toward perhaps viewing Apollo as phony, but a mind toward perhaps considering the idea that you might be wrong about the radios.
It turns out that it is very hard to pinpoint something so far away, even with fancy 1960s vintage equipment.
With regard to an appreciation of solar system science fundamentals, our side, those emphasizing the truth of Apollo's rancid inauthenticity, is every bit as knowledgable, if not typically all the more so, as the side of those NASA goons that perpetrated this heinous and oh so unpatriotic embarrassment of a fraud, thank you very much.

Before Jim Irwin was an Apollo astronaut he became a flight instructor. One day he was instructing a student to fly when the student crashed the plane into the ground. Jim Irwin's legs were so smashed that they could have been amputated. But Jim Irwin experienced a miraculous healing like so many other astronauts did, like Alan Shepard and Michael Collins, like Deke Slayton did.
Of course we know that that the moon only shows one face to us, and that the other side, the non earth facing lunar countenance, sees the sun every bit as much as the earth oriented side does.
to be sure , the boys, and gal weren't aware of this one, we are indeed off and at it again.....

FYI. The article you posted contained no references to Apollo, NASA, astronauts, Jim Irwin or his broken, smashed legs.

Well written thread, and good research and speculation. But no, it wasn't faked, at least that's my best guess. Too many people would have to be in on it, hundreds if not thousands, and the equipment on the moon - laser mirrors, etc. - well, you know the arguments. The people that believe it was faked are losing out on the "wow" factor of looking at the moon and knowing that people have walked upon it, and brought pieces of it back. How cool is all that!!!

but i guess with regards to astronauts if they break a toe bone or any minor injury for that matter, they should be grounded permanently because there is simply no hope for recovery for astronauts.
When you seriously think about it , only a couple of dozen people needed to be in on it .
The launch was real , so count out anybody to do with the launch .
The return and splash down was real , so count out anybody involved with that .
The only people who had to be in on the fakery were the ones who knew that the apollo 11 crew circled the earth the whole time instead of going to the moon .
