Why Can't I Watch the MSM?

This website is considered a fringe subculture on the internet. A website which talks about topics not seen everyday in the news, and topics that the news won't ever dare report upon. The site followers are generally against the MSM otherwise referred to as the Mainstream Media. This includes Talk Radio, Television News Channels, Online Journals, and Magazines and Newspapers. The one question I have yet to see a great response to is, why can I not read or listen to these things?

If I agree with Obama or Mitt Romney on certain political issues, and if these views were ever opinionated on the airwaves and in "official" print, I am seen as a shill or a bot. Why? Do you honestly believe, that a person who posts on this site regularly would allow themselves to be totally brainwashed by these entities?

Despite the fact that I have said time and time again, "I am a centrist. I research every point of view on every topic"--Yes including Ron Paul.
But seriously whenever I am apparently reiterating a somewhat "normal" talking point in the news people yell at me on this site. Is that really the best way to have a debate? When I post something positive about Mitt Romney and something negative about Ron Paul, people get heated and say that I am brainwashed by the MSM. How can this be? It is just a post on ATS that talks about a somewhat mainstream topic, that I might have added my own insights on. But apparently you must never mention MSM News on this website even though I would say 85% of the posts on here link the MSM news.

This is what happens when people get too passionate about one subject or the other. Now, I am not pointing out any particular groups here, but you know who you are. And if you don't well, you have more of a problem than the folks that run the MSM!

A news analyst, which is the professional title of folks like Rachael Maddow, Chris Matthews, Juan Williams, and Glenn Beck, get paid to do this! They are supposed to slant the news towards their audience members, because Woah! their audience likes to hear their point of view, because it just might match theirs! As we've seen on this site, isn't refreshing to hear people talk about our viewpoints on subject material? So why limit their freedom of speech and opinion, just because they are paid the big bucks. Jealous much?

These people all have fan bases, but the people who watch or listen to them are not brainwashed. That is an insult to anybody who does not belong to this site. The news analysts are just celebs in their own worlds. And there is nothing wrong with that. If you allow these people to tell you what to think and how to live life. That is very very sad. I think it would be very hard to find someone that says, Glenn Beck is everything to me! I would kill for him. Just because you like Green Day, or Justin Bieber, it doesn't mean you are brainwashed by them. It doesn't mean that their music is playing 24/7. It's more than likely there are people who would kill themselves to meet Justin Bieber, than any of the news analysts I mentioned above combined.

I have been called: A liberal, communist, socialist, shill, troll, and brainwashed, for even mentioning the fact that I am going to be voting for Mitt Romney in the primary and...the election. Without even asking why or critically understanding the meaning behind my vote, some people on this site dislike Romney as much as they dislike Obama. Which is perfectly fine, but try to stay on topic and explain why you hate the topic of Romney so much. Why any of the mainstream Republicans cannot be great Presidents themselves. Clinton had a good run, so did George Bush (first term) and his father. Ronald Reagan of course is the father of the GOP and all of the other Presidents before them were outstanding men who did their best to run the country! They were all mainstream candidates.

Frankly I am highly suspicious of news information or people that are NOT mainstream and this is probably why you all flock here together, so you can be considered mainstream on this site and attack everyone who is not! See? You are no different than anybody else.

Enjoy your day, being normal

The answer is quite simple
Do not be a conspiracy theorist

Just be a skeptic
That's as simple as it gets!

I actually watch as much MSM as I can and yes there is some things I agree with on all sides... Fox, Cnn, Msnbc, Aljazzera, RTnews... it is good to watch these and see what propaganda the government is trying to get you to listen too.

Yet you have to take the MSM with as much of a grain of salt as you do ATS... when I first found this site I was interested because I would hear about events here long before I would on the MSM.. I love that about ATS. I use to think fox was the best outlet out there but after spending time here and watching RT I find that I cant stand how much "SHOW" there is and not enough "NEWS"

I miss Adam vs the man, even though you can find him on the internet, that show was a turning point for my views on MSM.

Its ok to watch MSM and just like ATS everyonce in a while they do talk about real stuff.. I think some of the sicking stuff to me is how much the MSM is bought off.. I'm sick of the commericals and the lack of interest in real issues. If I wanted to watch Jerry Springer thats what I would watch.

MSM has become like going to the grocery store and seeing the Star talking about the fattest hollywood star or batboy found in cave... it turns my stomach that most people watch and totally believe.

Please express your views, just keep an open mind.

How about the simple fact that there is no country in the world that has a regulation, rule or law that says any news source has to tell the truth, and that includes the U.S. of A.
MSM is not concerned with news quality their concern is ratings.
Fox won that battle in court several years ago, so do you really think any other news source is gonna tell the truth
if they legally don't have to?

Been called many a name on this site everything they can throw including the kitchen sink as a rule of thumb those who go around calling posters shills.trolls.disinfo agents are outright personal attacks.

Never last too long on here support those beliefs you know to be true vote for for whoever you so choose many people on here claim moral and intellectual superiority over others but none ever have shown it.

Stick to your guns and call it like how you see it when you start to give a crap bout someone elses opinion more than your own well....

Time to hang up those six shooters.

It's simple really. Many have been brainwashed into becoming 100% Anti-MSM.

The most logical method for gaining knowledge, is to get your information from many different outlets. Regardless of what any particular outlet may be, limiting your sources will only restrict your knowledge.

I have seen you and others like OutKast get attacked on here because of their views and trying to bring balance to one topic over another. I supposed if Romney does become President there will be much more posts about him on here later... Did this thing happen before Obama was President? Were people mainly talking about Hilary, and what she would do?

Yep there will be tons of threads of Romney Bashing just like there were tons of thread Bush Bashing it's a give and take on here there are tons of Obama bashing.

people love to bash both sides of the isle.

People talk about everyone and everything threads about Palin,Hilary everything is fair game.,

Depends on what way the political winds blow at any given time on who has more made.

Doesn't matter. Not worth thinking about it. Even if someone just flat out says, "I was a paid disinfo agent.", you're just gonna have to take their word for it, if you wanna believe them.

Personally, I think most people are idiots. No point trying to differentiate between which ones are being paid to be idiots, and which ones are dong it for free.

The theories are always the same just the names and dates are changed to keep up with the times. Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush Jr, Obama have all had the he will take our guns, put us in camps, works for the NWO/UN, is under mind control, is the anti Christ, is anti Christian, is a Maxist/Facist etc. etc. None of it ever proves to be true and is quickly forgotten when the next President comes along. The same follows true with dozens of other scenerios with the weather, disclosure, WW3, end of the world, false flags etc. etc. It never ends but, it is interesting to watch how one thing is dropped and then brought back in a different package.
