Awww now don't let That stop you !!

Why not, isn't it totally acceptable for a person to immediately walk away from a topic as soon as they get the impression that they wont agree with it?

Or is it kinda "pansy-assed"?

Thank you very much for this. I knew it was part of a concerted effort and agenda. This is why I defended the right of the students to walk out of an anti-Christian tirade. It is all part of the plan to destroy Christianity and the Family from within by Marxists and by sympathizers of communism, and those who hate God with a vengeance.

The students have the right to walk out but don't cry attack on Christians when they are unable to defend their faith. You may want to open a bible and read for once because Jesus was closer to being a commie than a capitalist.

Third eye is well versed in the bible we know what it says, I have no animosity against gays what so ever, but apparently people on this forum find it ok for christian conservative to be dragged to their death, via Dan Savage.

and neither care about the hundreds of thousands of Christian that are murdered because of their faith annually.

Dan Savage did nothing but point parts of the bible that are wrong unless you agree with slavery and the like. I wonder if he were to start talking about the Torah or Qur'an would the Jews/ Muslims would get up and walk out?

Actually people on this forum complain about the Christian deaths quite a bit because they are being killed right along side the Muslims in Palestine.

Dan Savage declared the entire Holy Bible as - BullSh*t.

Don't try to sugar coat all of the Dan Savage rant.

BTW, will Dan Savage be attacking the Muslims next week?

Horse crap! He intentionally insulted the Bible, and the beliefs of many who attended an event that was supposed to be about an anti-bullying effort. His actions were nothing short of an ambush of those he disagrees with! He, and the members of the Westboro Baptist Church, are both perfect examples of the cowardly asses that hide behind the 1st amendment as they spout their damn hate speech. They truly DO deserve one another! And... I sincerely DO HOPE that they meet in Hell!

See ya,
Milt

That is simply untrue.
He didn't declare the entire bible as bull#.
He said "We can learn to ignore the bull# in the bible about gay people" He then said, "just like the bull# about slavery"
He was saying that specific part is bull#, not the whole bible.

I'm really really tired of hearing Christians complain about how persecuted and singled out they are. Get it through your thick stupid skulls, you are a stupid, backwards culture which needs to be systematically removed from the earth

Well, now isn't that all kind and loving. Christians have been persecuted since the Romans beheaded John the Baptist. The Bolsheviks made it a point to murder and imprison Christians. Marx and Lenin hated Christians and all religion. That is the company you are keeping.
Humanism is a religion too, by their own declaration, but they decided to change their religious status due to the fact that they were challenged in the Supreme Court of Law over separation of Church and State.

Ah yes, those 2.2 billion global Christians. Those 74% of Americans. They are certainly a persecuted minority.

Christianity and religion are coming to a well deserved end. The more educated a people are, the less religious they are. The religious are a minority in many European countries and they are losing their foothold in America as well. Each year the percentage of people with no religion rises in the US and the percentage of people with religion falls. Religion is an archaic and dangerous practice that should have died out centuries ago.

It's not "hate" according to liberals.

What they are doing is pointing out how wrong christians are.

It may look like bullying.

It may sound like bullying.

But out of the kindness of their hearts, it is "counceling".

Now if a conservative wanted to correct a liberal, THAT would be bullying, and hate speech, and a crime, punishable by prison.

This is the world we live in.

All he was saying is to stop bullying gays based on something that's in the bible.
That's all he said.
That's not hate, period. He's criticizing others for hating.
He doesn't insult or bully Christians. He just saying one part of the bible is wrong, and that there are other parts that people disregard already.
It doesn't look or sound like bullying unless you take tiny parts of it out of context.

like I already said, the truth hurts, and some people just can't handle it.

You people are just like fox news. You repeat a word or phrase, "Obama is a socialist" "He's an anti-christian bully" ad nauseam.

I'm backing up my stance with quotes in context from his speech. You're just repeating the same line over and over with nothing to back it up.

Mr. Savage is doing the very thing that I fantacized about when I was younger. I grew up in the 60's and 70's . Every other rock album and cd was positively hateful toward believers. At night I would dream about ransacking a music store and destroying cd covers with Christ depicted as a loser, pooping, a damned soul, etc.
Once something is said it is said. You can't just say "sorry" and expect that to be well recieved. Mr. Savage would feel the same way I'm sure if someone gave a gay slur and then apologized. Watch what you say and do is a good rule to live by.
When I post (and I'm trying to do it more often) I try to practice consideration. Whenever published your words are a record. Finally, being forced to not criticize him for tearing apart the Bible is a double standard. We should really have a right to be offended.

Thought I would add this to the thread, this is breaking news.
Looks like Dan Savage might be losing his "platform" for his hate spewing.

NSPA and JEA consider Mr. Savage’s use of harsh language and profanity to be

inappropriate and offensive to many in attendance.

This is not what our organizations expected.

In his attempt to denounce bullying, Mr. Savage belittled the faith of others –
an action that we do not support. Ridicule of others’ faith has no place in our programs,
any more than ridicule of the LGBT community would.

Student journalism, like professional journalism, is built on the foundation of free speech.
It should not shy away from controversial topics and viewpoints.
But it should promote and engage in civil discourse.

Mr. Savage’s speech fell short of that standard, and for this our organizations apologize.

www.breitbart.com...

I doubt Mr. Savage will find a lasting "platform" for his hate, when those who invite
him are forced to apologize.

Maybe he should stick to being a Sex Columist.

Just for the record, God doesn't hate gay people.

Surely nobody on this forum believes that the 'Westboro view' is an acceptable form of Christianity?

God hates it when people judge each other in self-righteousness. Jesus warned us about it very clearly:

''Judge not, in case you yourselves are judged''

Nice catch..!

Always expect a decent comment from you, Burntheships.

ETA - realised this is kind of off topic, but everyone should check out the post I'm referring to. Savage may well run himself out of Dodge.

Actually, the church is growing in many parts of the world. Here in the UK it has remained steady for a while. Traditional churches (protestant and catholic, methodist and so forth) are in decline, but there is a growth in the evangelical offshoots, so an overall balance is maintained. Many people are coming to know the timeless truths contained in the Bible, and are having an experience of God through meetings inspired by His presence and action.

So despite the accurate sarcasm about the church being a 'persecuted minority', even your own stats are showing your comment about 'well-deserved end' to be a fabrication from your own mind.

Westboro Baptist are not christians. They are a family of lawyers who created their own "cult" and they go out and picket soldiers funerals and purposely try to piss people off so someone will lose their sh*t and walk over and punch them in the face, just so WBC can go and sue them for money. Theyre a family full of instigators.

They are about as far from Yeshua's teaching as Sharia is.

Yep

A Baptist is a Baptist
A Catholic is a Catholic
A Methodist is a Methodist
A Moron is a Moron

All different Flavors of Christianity everyone in this country is free to start their own church or create their own religion no matter how stupid others may think it is.

That is what freedom of Religion and the protection of means.

Good to know a bit more about them, thanks for the info. Over here in the UK they'd all be up on charges for hate crimes before a punch got thrown - I feel sorry that you guys have to put up with them.

Sorry for being a bit off-topic, but it's kind of related - morons spouting BS and somehow getting away with it.
