Who cares if he burns a book, these religious fairytale books only mean somethin to certain individuals that cannot think for themselves.

You know what? This pastor has the right idea. Only he shouldn't stop with the kuran. He should burn all books related to any religion including Christianity. Give him a job and have the world send him all religious books. He will become "The burner" cause you know...he likes to burn...stuff.

Once that happens, if people wants to know god. Just tell em to listen to their hearts. More knowledge there than a book imo.

What a drooling, slavering, bigoted fool.

Living on the ladder instead of when having reached the roof, have the courage to step off the ladder. All religions are meant as catalyst ladders to get you to the Destination. Instead most regard the ladder as the dwelling. Very unfortunate. Just not brave enough.

So they decorate the ladder rungs with flowers, robes or blood.

I hear ya.

This dude is just playing with a hornet's nest. Does he really believe he is doing God's will? Thanks for spreading hatred, bub, as if there isn't enough in the world anyway.

So he burned a koran. Big deal. It's a book.

Burn a bible. It's a book. So what.

These people have to learn that they're living in the ancient past and it's time to grow up.

Someone has to start somewhere. I'll donate for matches.

I would like to put out a fatwah on the pastor in the name of common sense, unless he adds the other holy books to the pile.

Urinating off fanatics is good fun, but one should be aware it's a good way to lose a head. One fanatic (or more) taunting other fanatics is a recipe for... well, a recipe for the world as we know it with all its' history.

Funny. He burns a copy of the Quran, but he might as well just burn the bible while he's at it, because really, that's what he's doing. While he's making an effort in his mind to snub and destroy Islam, he's doing his part in destroying Christianity with his ignorance.

I like to hang out with true christians , not with heartless animals. You see the trouble with the world is that the stupid are so confident while the intelligent are full of doubt.

The best way to combat this kind of behavior is to ignore it. They are just trying to get a rise out of everyone, if you ignore it they will shut up.

It is interesting that Muslims are up in arms about someone burning a Koran.

They are much quieter about Muhammad burning people to death for not praying.

Bukhari (11:626)

- "The Prophet said, 'No prayer is harder for the hypocrites than the Fajr and the 'Isha' prayers and if they knew the reward for these prayers at their respective times, they would certainly present themselves (in the mosques) even if they had to crawl.' The Prophet added, 'Certainly I decided to order the Mu'adh-dhin (call-maker) to pronounce Iqama and order a man to lead the prayer and then take a fire flame to burn all those who had not left their houses so far for the prayer along with their houses.'"

Muhammad orders his men to burn alive those who do not present themselves at the mosque for prayer.

Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 11 :: Hadith 626

The Bukari is a Hadith text which is sacred to Sunni Muslims who make up 85% of all Muslims globally.

That's Muslims for you. They go crazy if someone burns a Koran but don't appear to have a problem with Muhammad burning people for not praying.

Islam. You just couldn't make it up.

Jihad is ugly but it's ok because they are brave or are committed to the reason they are murdering people? That is basically what you just said. How is killing people (solider and civilian) some how not as offensive to you as the burning of a book"? Plus...the fact you talked with a couple and looked into it. Hmm, I don't know. I'll let people draw their own conclusions on this one.

"living monument to stupidity did nothing but advance the cause of hate, unrest and the hard line between Islam and everything Christian in America"

I'm pretty sure that same line describes the "Jihadist" I mean murders that you think are "genuine".

Wow...

Actually Terry Jones actions speaks a lot about Christianity in the US.
With people like Terry, its not about what Jesus said or did anymore.... instead Christianity has become a soap box to stand on and assault other religions.

Oops! Yes you are right, sorry I was tired yesterday, looks like I typed the wrong religion in that sentence! That was a Big typo!

It is Christians who are not allowed to enter Mecca... Muslims of course are allowed

thank you for pointing out the mistake. You get a star for that! I would not have read it again today without your pointing that out! While I cannot go back and edit the mistake now as it is too late hopefully people will read this conversation!

He is not a Christian who refused to convert to Islam, he was a Muslim who converted to Islam and was tried for preaching people away from following the laws of Iran...

That's wrong. He was never a muslim as an adult. The court there even said so.
ATS Thread on the subject

you cannot blame what the monarchy of saudia does on Islam since their country is not run according to sharia...

You most definately CAN blame the laws of Saudi Arabia on Islam ... they are using Islam as the excuse for not allowing people to bring in bibles and/or rosary beads. It's because of ISLAM

The fact is that there are most definately elements within Islam that do NOT want to 'live and let live'. For you to say that all muslims just want to get along with others and 'live and let live' is not true. Some do. But many do not.

You have made it clear you want to attack Islam and everything about it and so have all your friends. That conversation as a whole is off topic in this thread, yet repeatedly you bring it up. Fine. Got your point, if there is something you can say to make Islam appear evil your going to say it, regardless of what the topic of the thread is.

I came to post in this thread because someone asked me my opinion and how the actions of the Pastor will be perceived in other countries and why. I stated that. I believe I have nothing more to post in this thread.

If anyone in the world is being persecuted it is anyone who is against US raping of foreign countries.

Haven't you ever wondered if your hatred of the latest group, country or person the media happens to be feeding you today is simply buying into what the government wants you to buy? Why outrage over one christian and not thousands? Why outrage over one person and not millions of human beings? Because the one is living in a country your government wants to bomb today, and they want your support.

Another unwise action again but i guess this is how the world is going these days. People who claim to be religious without knowing the meaning of religion. Each side has some loony and loads of propaganda to hate each other.
People are easily to generalized everything. Just hope people who still keep their sanity will survived and hold on.
If we can respect other, other might respect us in return, and we can make our life better.

Peace
