Im no Expert but they look like Seahawks

While i was driving back from my Myrtle beach South Carolina vacation

around the suburd of Washington yesterday on the 95 North
not far from there i could see the Capitol but it was tiny from the highway

But just before the Capitol
4 huge transport troops .. flying away in front of us
from a base near the highway
i think all of them were Seahawks
sadly i didnt have time to grab my iphone to take all of them
the first 2 flew very close I could see their belly (grabing my phone at the same time)
those things could easily carry 30 soldiers

Pretty rare sight .. first time i see such actions in big quantity
in SC i saw 2 military copter flying somewhere but to far to snap them up
normal thing for me

but 4 !!!

Is it me or second looking the picture they look like Stealthy

Would be very curious to know if it is just an exercise or something else

Preparing for Syria / Iran maybe ? :puzz:

Wow. Flying fast, you say? And they usually fly so slow.

And from a military base, you say? Well, that sure is out of the ordinary!

Star for effort and the clear photo.
I tend to agree that this doesn't really seem out of the ordinary so no cigar this time.

Jeez, I forgot I could scroll to the right and I thought you were talking about the black fuzzy dots at first.

Great job taking the pics. I have no idea what it means though.

Sadly the road sign is more interesting than the helicopters. Wish they weren't so blurry.

Hi,
Those Helicopters are Sea Stallions. I see them quite a bit here is San Diego. There are Marine or Navy helos. They are for troop transport and mine clearing. I hope that this helps. Thanks and quick shooting. They don't fly that low here and they fly over the beach and ocean.

Those are helicopters? They just look like 4 big black smudge dots.

Guess their slacking in the technology department.

Those are CH-53 Super Stallions. They often carry support personnel for the President when he travels in Marine One. They could have been heading out after a trip?

I saw one of these in Linden, NJ (I think) when Clinton was President and he was visiting NYC. They flew Marine One into there and drove the Prez in from there. En route, one of the CH-53s ingested a bird and had to stay behind for an engine swap, and that's when we were there watching this thing run through tests, running up the engines, hovering, etc. They flew an engine up from Quantico that night and the crew had been working all night putting it in. One of the Marines was hanging out by the gate telling us everything that happened. Pretty cool.

The blades are so clearly defined, this must have been an expensive camera?

Should there be some motion blur or is this just normal?

Geez, some crazy phones they are making now. I'm one of the few people who don't like having such a tech savvy cell phone so pardon my bs.

That's not a bad thing...you're one of the few that can't have the last $h!t they took pinpointed by Satellite.

Nice photo but nothing out of the ordinary. Bet you could feel those babies in your chest as they flew by, fun experience non the less.

Thanks for sharing. Normally, I wouldn't comment on pics of helicopters, but I felt compelled this time. On Thursday afternoon, I saw 6, what looked to me like Apaches (far from an expert...) flying high overhead. I took some pics with my phone, but the choppers just look like little black dots (pics linked below) Most I could get was 4 in one pic...

I am NOT near any sort of base (in Southeast Missouri...closest military base would probably be Ft. Leonard wood...a good 250-300 miles away). They were flying almost due east from here...I suppose towards Ft. Campbell, KY.

Just wanted to share what I saw. We around here don't usually see stuff like this...

I see this crap all the time, very loud and annoying if you ask me.
I live near an airforce base, and frequently see 5-7 choppers flying in formation at least once a week,
Sometimes they are smaller choppers, some large... sometimes even those double-bladed ones (forgot name)

They also seem to LOVE flying directly over my house, shaking and rattling everything.
