actually, i did know iranians. being that i grew up in a university environment, a major university, i've been around people from all over the world my entire life.

being that I have too much education, i spent most of my adult life around people that were from somewhere else, iran being among those places.

my wife is from the far east and i often feast and celebrate with people who have different social and political views from my own.

our children also have connections to places far beyond the shores of America and have a vested interest in the idea that America is a suitable place to call home.

all of this being said. I am quite certain that Herodotus was entirely correct in what he said.

and the present day Iranians are proving him correct.

the posters in these threads are proving Herodotus correct.

and i'm not criticizing a whole nation, just the people that control them and the posters who support them.
