o.k. found this while stumbling on the internet. I've heard about chi before and know a few martial artists that swear it's real but come on. I'm just trying to figure out out how he faked this, I saw an episode of Stan Lee's real life super hero show on t.v. where they went to Chicago to talk to a guy that supposedly knocks people out with a chi ball and it seemed to only work on his students like more of a hypnotic state he placed them in and they believed he could do that to them. That i could see but this is wood an inanimate object so somehow he faked this good any ideas thanks.

Pause at :33 seconds. It's obvious that the boards are pre-cut. The lines are too straight to be a "break".

It's a hoax.

Edit: I looked closer. The boards are precut, stacked, and balanced to appear whole.
He knocks them over with his knee.

well for one the second brick has a break already in it. It is chipped. The break happens right along where the chipped part is. Second his footing is wrong. third, while I believe in this sort of thing I find it hard to believe for the fact that he is all to rehearsed in his response when finally breaking it.

You can actually see the broken parts already if you look closely from before and during the break.

There was a Chan Tai San grandmaster of kung-fu. He was not known as a chi master.

This is just bogus.

EDIT.
I knew it sounded familiar.
tai Shan style was a fictitious fighting style in fist of the north star.

The Taizanji Kenpō (泰山寺拳法?, "Taishan Temple Martial Arts") was the original rival style of Hokuto Shinken in the two pilot episodes of Hokuto no Ken drawn and written by Tetsuo Hara

en.wikipedia.org...

great movie and series, but bad fake martial art.

here is a tai shan school that teaches kung fu, but not tai san style, since it doesnt exist.

How many boards is that? 5? Wow, what a noob. Lol.

And then at 0:28 there is only 4 boards. Idk...

Maybe the shorties on his left were too much of a distraction for his 'Chi." Hahaha.

But, if you look even closer, his knee never touches the boards. Not saying this is real, but come up with a better debunk than his knee. I'm still looking for how he did it.

Honestly, speaking from the heart.
If anyone in that crowed thought he really did that, they are dumb.
As soon as the video started I noticed the boards seemed to be tilted inwards slightly.

Obviously that lead to the same conclusion as someone already posted.

Im not speaking for this guy, I don't care if this is real or not but Chi energy is real, in fact it is just energy.

Energy surrounds us constantly all day every day, we are made of energy, our universe is energy. I dont understand how you dont believe in it? What do you think E=MC2 means?

I'd be more inclined to consider it possible if it weren't for the fact that the bottom boards seem to break first....a reply to: buddybaney

Haven't you heard of "Dim Mak?" You need to watch "Blood Sport" with Jean Claude Van Damme ...

Seriously though, there is a reason why I respect Bruce Lee so much - he made such phonies look just as dumb as they deserve to look... None of those "masters" volunteered to fight Bruce when he was around, because they knew very well that that could be their last martial arts experience! It seems as if such people keep in the tradition of only fighting inanimate objects... If we can judge by this guy in the video, they don't even feel like hitting the inanimate object with their hands, because it might hurt!
