Flight Quarantined at Chicago Midway

A Delta flight is under quarantine at Chicago’s Midway Airport after reports of an ill passenger, according to ABC News station WLS in Chicago.

Officials from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Chicago Department of Health are on the runway working with emergency crews.

According to the city’s Department of Aviation, Flight 3163 from Detroit landed at the airport a few hours ago.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the bizarre illness that was reported about in Vietnam a week or so ago?

In the other thread the OP states that the flight was cleared at 6pm Eastern time, however the news article I linked above was posted at 6:46 p.m. Whether Eastern or Central, that would still be later than 6 p.m. Eastern time.

Don't even joke like that. Infectious diseases are what people should really be scared of. To hell with comets, Mayan 2012, etc. The spread of an unknown virus is a real threat. Not much you can do to escape an airborn pandemic. Does kind of sound like a start to a good movie, maybe I should pop some corn.

A mysterious skin disease has killed 19 people and affected 171 others in the province of Quang Ngai, one of the most impoverished in the country. The resistant disease was first discovered in April 2011 before dying down and resurfacing with a vengeance.
The illness initially presents with high fever, appetite loss and a rash on the feet and hands, but left untreated can affect the respiratory system, cause eye problems, miscarriages, liver issues and multi-organ failure. And it has doctors baffled.

Its supposed to be a continuation of the first movie (which was an adaptation of [REC]). I can only imagine being a passenger on the plane, i'd probably be freaking out right now. I do agree that this kind of stuff is what we need to worry about, not Nibiru crashing into us or something.

Medical staff at CDC and the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) reviewed the case and, based on the patient's symptoms and photographs of the rash, it does not appear that the signs and symptoms are consistent with a monkeypox infection

It isnt monkey pox. They still dont know what it is.. Lets hope nothing bad come out of this or else we should be hearing about it soon...

Small pox was declared eradicated I think in the early 80's and all the known vaccines are under control of WHO they went around convincing all the governments around the world to give up their vaccines since it was declared eradicated. If you are in the military chances are you received a small pox vaccine.

Bad news is, if you are not in the military, the only one that can sign off on you to get a vaccine is the Federal Government.
