Math aside, many of the "pledged" Romney delegates are Ron Paul supporters, and on a second round of votes the picture is very different.

Many in the Republican Party know that if Paul wins the nomination they have at least a chance to take on Obama. But if they nominate Romney not only do they have to contend with Obama but also internal strife against the RINO.. ultimately, it would be impossible for Romney to win simply due to the number of people in the Republican Party who may either vote 3rd party or write in Paul to spite Romney.
