Let's Experiment...Not 8.9 Style...

I am just curious if we have any mods on duty...I mean I see that we have some on when I look at the forum member outline...but I don't see any active..so are there any active?

The question arises for a couple reasons:

First...I see a thread with new members that need some direction before they post any further!

And second...I am watching threads spin seriously off topic and continue that way for an hour or better!

I mean...I don't want to budge into moderating business or anything...I am just seriously wondering if we have any that are monitoring the boards tonight...or if everyone is in a safety meeting at the moment?

Maybe this should be in the rant forum...I am not really ranting though...just curious!

Ya...of course...for the last couple hours...very unusual for sure!

I am really not new to how things work on ATS...but tonight is differnt for certain!

Maybe they just don't pay attention to me anymore (kidding of course)!

That thread went away pretty quick. I think they were "letting it go" for a bit. Sometimes it takes the edge off sometimes.

It looked like there were 3 mods on when I checked. They are probably a bit busy at the moment. Or perhaps they disagree with your assessment. I really couldn't say.

Ya...you are probably right...not the national security threat that I think it is ( or violations of T & C 's)...not trying to moderate anything...just curious how in the last two hours things have gotten so crazy on a couple of threads!

Lol bringing up that topic is like saying Bloody Mary three times. They'll come out of the woodwork

I think they are trying to find the balance between having members start calling them all heavy handed and saying it in large numbers....and the sense that anarchy reigns and rules are negotiable.

It seems lately they've been getting hit from all sides like it's a giant game of Whack-A-Mod.

Seriously... I'm thinking when there are things obviously amiss and nothing being done right away, it's probably because they're off in the staff forums talking about how to properly handle it. As far as not seeing them....heck, even my software on my sites let me and staff vanish from all lists or notices of who is or isn't online. Chat..forums..the whole thing. I'm sure ATS has quite a bit more for toys in the box than my stock installs supply.

Just my thoughts from what I gather of how it all works behind the curtains.
