Easier said than done my man, if I could do without banks altogether, I would. I need to cash my checks though, and around here, only a bank that you have an account with will do it. If I could only find a job willing to pay cash, I could avoid banks, and the income tax

Not only that but within my industry it is MANDATORY to have a bank account in which to send your paycheck to in the form of Direct Deposit. Basically many folks have NO CHOICE but to participate as many employers DO NOT issue paper checks anymore. It's either Direct Deposit or no job.

There is a simply way around the bank issue many have brought up, many say they need an account to cash checks or direct deposit. You don't however but to avoid fees to cash the check at a bank its best to have and account, lets go one step further and the reason for my post.

Credit Unions, yes some may not be convenient in location but they are on-line, these Credit Unions take direct deposits and they are private member owned, the best thing most require no min balance and even better you do NOT need a SS number to open an account with them.

Everyone should get out of big banks altogether even for loan purposes even small banks are tied to the system most all being FDIC insured which is not really a problem, but Credit Unions are the best way to go for all.

Side note even at a big bank though they may fight you on it, there is no law requiring them to have your SS number in fact the law is clear and if they push the issue they are the ones in violation of the law and can be fined. For more info on that I will post a thread titled SS Examined by the end of the day.

Very true we the people let the corrupt Washington DC puppets get away with this but we are the people are catching up to their games so hopefully sooner or later we the people will reverse it. Tbh, this was all well planned out on us unsuspecting Americans but people are waking up day by day.

Oh amd American Idol sucks big time after Simon left. The new show to watch out for is Americas Got Talent with Howie Mandell, Sharon Osbourne, & Howard Stern. It starts next month.

People always have a choice, and you point to a specific problem that has gone on for far too long. You speak to employers who will not even issue paper checks anymore, but paper checks are useless unless banks will cash them. There was a time when an employee could count on taking their paycheck to a bank and that bank honoring the contract they made with your employer by cashing that check, but those days are long gone. More importantly, when did employees start thinking it was a favor to them to be paid by check instead of cash? Frankly, given the state of fiat currency, a smart employee is one who gets his employer to pay him in gold.

The simple fact of the matter is this; while businesses have the right (particularly in a "right to work state) to hire and fire employees as they see fit, the do not have any right to extort their employees and engage in racketeering. What you've just described is exactly that; extortion and racketeering. Why you or anyone else working for that company can't be bothered to hold them accountable for their crimes is between you and they, but that you do have the power to put a stop to this criminality by your employers should not be in doubt.

not only will they handle your paycheck, but they offer loans, mortgages, and most all services a bank does. you are helping your community while helping yourself. Tis the only way to go.

If from July 2013 they will be funded directly by the taxpayer, then they would need to be answerable to the congress for the money's use.

You have a point there. I remember in HS, when I was working the Wendy's drive thru(MMMMM bacon classic), the bank across the street had a deal with that Wendy's, they cashed our checks, and didn't charge me a dime for it! The good old days....

Obama and the Democrats brag about Dodd-Frank as one of their great achievements. Now we know why. The bill gives dictatorial power to new agencies and allows unlimited collecting and sharing of your information. The agencies have no accountability to congress or voters.

Actually it is easier done than said, I have not had a checking account in over ten years and never plan to get one. There are options to cashing your check too. Either find a check cashing place (western union, etc...) or the simplest thing to do is get a prepaid credit card that allows direct deposit, the one I got charged me 6.95 to set it up, and after my check is deposited I simply withdraw it from the card. Yes there are fees for both of those, but in the long run it is a lot cheaper than banks and far less hassle and worry.
