North Korea's military vowed a new and unusually specific threat to its neighbors, saying it would reduce South Korea "to ashes" in less than four minutes.

I would be more intimidated by North Korea than i would by iran..by a long shot. North Korea says it will turn thier foes to ashes within minutes, as which iran said it would wipe countries off the map. We made a huge deal out of iran and we still are.

But how come we are not making North Korea a big deal when they are doing the same thing? The only thing different is they actually have nuclear capability

exactly!, Korea has little resources, im surprised that we havent heard any news about China or our attempt to go into it

Thats the point, i dont expect us to do anything, i would prefer it to be a situation between N and S korea, but somehow we will get involved, then our allies, and Nkoreas allies.

If the editors from the article can't even get proper grammar right, why should we believe this? Look at the caption under the pic.

If we tried to take them down they would reduce the South Korean population centers to ash anyways.

They're a nation of psychopaths who don't care about the outcome of their actions. It would be wise not to mess with them.

Short answers...Korea - They are crazy, but not dumb. The state issued statements from North Korea are aimed at thier own populace, not the outside world.

Korea knows that if they do anything really stupid they will be obliterated. Kim Jong-un wants to play ruler of the world amongst his starving populace just as bad as his fatehr did, so he might talk tough, but he needs hand-outs to survive and the party would be over if N. Korea actually did anything.

Iran is pretty much the same story, but they have oil. Iran talks tough, but if they ever did anything they would be turned back into desert lickety-split. The only reason it is higher profile right now is because the neo-conservative wing of the GOP is licking thier chops about another war for oil.

Because Israel is not currently not telling the US to attack North Korea.

Things do get done regarding North Korea........just understand that not everything is done by using a gun, if NK was strong enough to pull off the job and maintain the area they would have done South Korea years ago !!!!

1 The main reason is they don't have oil and other natural resources.

2 The existence of North Korea keeps the military industrial complex in business in Japan, South Korea and Australia.

3 If America invaded North Korea China would surly get involved.

Mainly because the only real way to deal with NK would be a massive surprise nuclear attack on just about the entire nation to wipe out all the artillary they have aimed at South Korea that would if fired devastate South Korea. Don't get me wrong we would eventually defeat them but South Korea would be devastated in the process of anything short of massive nuclear strikes.

Considering the iron curtain that has been over the north for over 60 years how does anyone know what resources they have?

North Korea is running their mouth as usually saber rattling and all that.

It seems a tap dance of some sort around the issued area must go on till the dance reaches the doorsteps of NK. Sort of like a warning to them as they observe the "dance". It would be smart to go after less destructive targets first all while alerting the NK gov. of what may be to come. Some may feel NK may nuke the whole peninsula N & S and that would be devastating so the EA*RTH govs are observed dancing around till they get to them hoping maybe that by then there will be no nuclear conflict..

Seriously intimidated By North Korea? A whole nation of malnourished runt Asians with NO mineral resources,no food,that live in total subjugation,worry you?

I would be more worried if they surrendered,sued for peace, threw down their weapons and said, to their brothers in the south,"take care of us". For one it would devastate South Korea's economy,which is a rocky road at best. South Korea would actually lose,by winning.

You ever wonder why, they don't cut off South Korea's water supply which runs from north to south on the Korean Peninsula?

And anyway they provide amusement to the rest of the world. You ever see their runt Generals in those big hats?

N Korea is no real threat to anyone. They saber rattle just like any other nation on Earth.

China keeps them under control. And if anything gets too hairy, China will step in to control their little commie cousins.

Iran and N Korea aren't any real threat to anyone. Canada on the other hand...

Comparing Iran to NKorea yeah, Nkorea is more unpredictable and is more crazy than Iran.

I feel this way too.We don't need to get involved.I also think we shouldn't have anything to do with Iran too.On the other hand though,if both were a direct threat to the US,then I'd be fine with it.But as of now neither Iran nor North Korea are.We need to stay out of both countries.
