North Korea Threatens "Unprecedented" Attack

news.yahoo.com

North Korea's military vowed a new and unusually specific threat to its neighbors, saying it would reduce South Korea "to ashes" in less than four minutes.
The statement, released Monday when programming was interrupted on North Korea's state TV by a special report, comes amid rising tensions on the Korean peninsula.
Earlier this month, North Korea was unsuccessful in a long-range missile launch, prompting worries that North Korea may conduct another nuclear test. South Korean officials say new satellite images show that North Korea has been digging a tunnel in what appears to be prepara

I'm surprised that no one has posted about this topic yet in any of the forums. There has been a lot of talk from North Korea about their hatred for South Korea's government, but it's relatively shocking that they would threaten complete annihilation.

Of course, the missile they tested failed but I don't think neither the United States or China could actually prevent them from doing significant damage if they were so inclined.

Reduced to ashes in 4 minutes, hmmm, but yet can't get your rocket to fly the other day? Trying to compensate for rocket envy.

Interesting article, thanks for sharing!

I served a year in the US Army stationed in South Korea.

I have to tell you that the North Korean government is flat-out bat-sh#t crazy. I try to "read between the lines" when it comes to the US list of enemies, but not with these guys. They are whacked like no other!

One paragraph from the story that genuinely has me worried:

The North Korean military threatened to "reduce all the rat-like groups and the bases for provocations to ashes in three or four minutes, (or) in much shorter time, by unprecedented peculiar means and methods of our own style."

North Korea issues unusually specific threat

"...by unprecedented peculiar means and methods of our own style."?

What the hell does that supposed to mean? More sabre-rattling, or is there a new threat they've devised?

Don't put anything past these nut jobs. This story is definitely worth watching.

I'm sorry, but after 50 years of threats,it's hard to take this seriously. I approach these threats with a different.....approach
:

Propaganda: The threats are to show the people in North Korea how powerful they are,and to show North Korean supporters in the South that the fight for liberty and anti-imperialism is still going.

The last "missile" launch was a failure, and shows how corrupt and weak and inefficient the North Korean military and institutions are. A country that has been developing the military more than even food for the citizens for the past 50 years, tries to launch a single rocket and fails miserably? The only one who should be afraid are the people living near the borders.

4 minutes. Smells like antimatter bomb. Just a drop, and poof, total anihilation. ''unprecendented manner known only to NK'' makes me believe it would be antimatter. Does NK have particle accelerators?

Exactly what are we getting out of North Korea? Nothing, really.

If they launch an attack, then pull our troops out of there and bomb the **** out of that country. No one messes with the guy sitting on a stockpile with "Nuclear Armageddon" slapped on it. Especially when he's dangling his finger over the big red button.

They send their flawed missils in to the airspace over South Korea, the missils can only stay in the air for 1½ min. before they fail and drop to the ground in 2 or 2½ min. and explode, total time 3½ to 4 min.

OMG
Maybe they are speaking the truth

It has been claimed that the amount of artillery that the north has pointed at the south could quite literally flatten Seoul within a few hours. I wouldn't put it past them to try something either. The new leader has to hurry up, and flex his muscles so he doesn't lose face.

what if north korea has like a secret weapon.

perhaps a group of wizards or mutants.

that would be something..

after all, it is a magical land..

They could use nuclear artillery with the thousands of mortars pointed at the south.

That's not true. Most people are simply corruptible but not evil. What happens is the elite devil worshiping fraction of the public control the world populations so it would appear as if all humans are evil but in reality it's a select few evil bastards making us all look bad.

I have a solution to the petulant little children running North Korea that I think even Machiavelli would be proud of. US President after next Nork nuke test says something like "They haven't listened to the international calls not to develop nuclear weapons and we must concede that North East Asia is a dangerous place. Henceforth the US will not stand in the way of either the Republic of Korea or Japan developing a deterrent capability, and will veto any efforts at the UN to stop them, and should the DPRK continue developing such technologies at the expense of it's people we will assist either Japan or South Korea in both defensive technologies and delivery mechanisms for their deterrent" China hears nuclear armed Japan and maybe South Korea and finally puts the leash on Kim the third that they've refused to for his predecessors.
