I'm going to start 'panhandling' in my free time.

Hi.

I'm seriously kind of thinking about it.

I could play the veteran angle but I never would.

I'll just drive across town park at a shopping center and start asking people for money for gas.

People ask me all the time and most of the time they don't even have a #ing car!!!
What do they need gas money for their lawn mower?

Most don't even ask for change anymore it's like 'hey can you spare a dollar?'.......NO!

So that's my plan for next Saturday. I'll just get drunk Friday night and sleep in my clothes so I'm good and stinky. Then Saturday I'll go begging for money for a few hours.

I'll let you guys know how much money I make.

I have to say this is a bad idea for two reasons.
1. You will prevent the money from going to someone who actually needs it.
2. It will make you and others look bad.

I say do what you want. Liberty is a remarkable thing. Word of advice though. Why not have something to give in return for any donations then you can say you didn't beg. Like why not come up with a bunch of little truisms and write them on strips of paper. Stuff like " Make a friend when you least need one'' or "Forgiveness takes your power back from those who abused it" or maybe "The underbelly of the 911 jets were rigged with clearly visible termination devices that were the brain child of Dov Zakheim" Maybe stuff you learned from ATS. Something to give in return for the money you will get. You may create some discussion.

There is a difference between "needing extra money" and having no alternative to begging on the street for pennies to just eat.
You have other alternatives besides begging. Here's one. Cut your internet connection and sell your computer.

Seriously though, their isn't anything wrong for asking. Just be prepared to be treated like 3rd or even 4th class. You will get some sympathizers, people still live on emotion.

Back in high school there was a guy who would hang out in the student store and ask everyone for change.
He avaraged about $30 an hour.

Also be careful, once the IRS finds out, you'll be forced to pay back taxes on your "earnings".

I bet people would feel better giving you money and you would too if you tapdanced with a kazoo or something. I'd actually like to see that.

I can't even continue to describe you. A lot of those peole out there panhandling do it because their SSI, their rent, or their welfare is being an absolute arsehole about their money.

You wanna be a jerk about this? Try taking all that money and donating it to a homeless charity, or a community pantry. Maybe a soup kitchen?

Show respect for the less fortunate. Try living out in the streets or in a tent, as an extended home!

He doesn't need the money, he's doing it to make light of people who really need it.

He's being a greedy, insensitive ignoramus.

Heres a trick my buddy did in college, he'd get a cane and dark glasses go down to Venice with a sign that said something like "Please tell me how beautiful the day is, God bless"

Told me he would rake in like 2-3 hundred an hour.

He stopped doing it after someone he gave money too saw him get in his car and drive off.

it can always be worse than what you have now.
