I've been a fan and avid reader of ATS for nearly four years now, but this is my first thread so it if all goes well I'll have the perfect excuse to crack open the bottle of vodka that's been winking at me from the cupboard!
If I've learned anything in life it's that dreams don't wait patiently for the right moment to breathe a change into reality, instead they must be chased and romanced and love nothing more than to dance on the edges of our fingertips. This thread, I guess you could say, is my attempt at reaching out and grabbing her hand...

I am the author of "The Apocalypse Show" and "Dust and Devils", the first having been available in print form. Both books are now available on Amazon.com in digital format and over the next several months there will be three new titles released.

I would like to offer members of ATS the opportunity to receive a free copy of one or both of the novels to help celebrate the launch of these titles. As I am still in the beginning stages of creating a presence on the internet, I ask only that if you do enjoy one or both of the novels to please take a moment to post a review on my Amazon page. Even a sentence or two would be appreciated far more than you can imagine!

The Apocalypse Show is approximately 495 pages, and Dust and Devils is approximately 390 pages, so there is no risk of receiving a ten page electronic "book" from a writer who whipped something up over a coffee and wants a quick taste of fame
I work hard and take great pride in my craft, and as an author there is nothing more rewarding than writing a story that someone might actually read! Below you'll find the description for each book and, if you think it might be up your alley, I'll be more than happy to flick you a free copy.

I'm sure ATS is filled with creative members, so if you're an author wanting to shed a little light on your work by all means post some information! As I mentioned, my books have only just been launched so it's always great to hear from other authors with regards to marketing strategies they may have found useful. And finally, if you don't have a Kindle, remember you can always download the free software to allow you to enjoy the ever growing world of digital books!

To receive your free copy, simply email me at [email protected] and I'll email you straight back with one or both of the books, depending on your choice, in Kindle format. (Don't worry, I'm just a struggling writer trying to catch a bit of a break - I won't use your emails for anything than to send you a free book. Besides, it's my real name so I wouldn't make a very good criminal!~)

"The Apocalypse Show"
Session one has commenced...
Grab your ticket, dim the lights, open the pages and let the flames of the Apocalypse tickle your senses.
Follow the golden medallion through six revelations of madness and reality bending stories that will bring a smile to your fear.
A literary cabaret featuring dusty aliens and unlucky drug dealers, a nasty seaside town, the dark side of the music industry and a computer that loves to play games, there'll be little hope in stopping the images following you across the wall of sleep!
Welcome to The Apocalypse Show, where seemingly unrelated events bring together the pieces that shape the beginning of the end...

"Dust and Devils"
Eddie is overworked, heart broken and about to take the trip of a lifetime along the East Coast of Australia with his two best friends. What he doesn’t know is that he will be drawn into a world of violence, murder and become witness to possibly the darkest day in Australia’s criminal history. Along the way, he may even rediscover love…

Dust and Devils. A journey into the dark heart of Australia where survival means bending the rules of friendship, where the line between good and evil is blown away with the dust and truth is pushed to the outer limits. Broken hearts, rebel bikers, open roads and serial killers. Strap yourself in and come for the ride with what will surely become an Australian classic.

I still have to work out how to upload images so if you want to take a look at the cover art you can visit Amazon.com and just type "darren kasenkow" into the search bar - both images should pop up.

(POST EDIT - thanks to a search through some forums I worked out how to upload the images and you can find them beneath this post!)

Okay, time to get back to work on the new stuff that's keeping my fingers busy. I hope to hear from some readers out there!

For your free copy of The Apocalypse Show and Dust and Devils, please email :

More than happy to send you a copy!
The art for the Apocalypse Show was actually a design I came up with but was painted by an artist in Adelaide, South Australia. He created an oil on canvass and then we photographed the image to have it digitally ready. I believe he's won a number of awards both here and overseas. I sure wish I could have kept the actual canvass though...

I'm just wondering if there are any fellow authors out there in the land of ATS? I'd love to hear any advice or suggestions with regards to the overwhelming task of marketing an ebook once it's made available! Social media side of things is, I guess, somewhat straight forward - i.e Facebook, Twitter, e.t.c. What I'm hoping to learn is if anyone has had a degree of marketing success in different fields such as press releases, interviews in local publications, website traffic, e.t.c. ???
Of course, I'd love to read some new stuff if anyone out there has uploaded a book or two.
So, dear writers..... are you out there?
