Thanks for clearing that up for us all out here in stupidville, in other words we should not believe our lying ears or eyes, so just to make sure I have this all straight, all of the strange sounds being recorded from all corners of the planet and posted on youtube are hoaxes?. I will sleep better tonight with this wisdom under my belt, thanks again.

Let me tell you something this is EXACTLY where I heard this.
I posted 2 recordings, one was looked at, and the noise was heard (It was through an old phone) Have a new phone now. Wish I could hear it again !!

This scared the HELL out of me.
The woman at the end where she says "Maybe not" was scared.
When I was listening to it, let me tell you, It sounded from hell, I felt it was from hell, and I felt like I was in hell.

Make of that what you will.
I did not feel good at all. horrible, disturbing noise.
A few neighours heard this also, so if it happens again MAYBE we have multiple recordings.
I urge people who are hearing these noises to set up the same arrangement with people in their street.

The sound wasn't added after the video unless they are simulating cheap microphone effects. You can hear that the sound is too loud for the microphone on whatever she is recording on.
So to hoax it they would have to have had a speaker system playing the sound right next to them, loud enough to make the camera/phone mic rattle.

I use editing software all the time, mostly Sony Vegas Pro. I can add any sound i want to a video, make it louder or lower. If you crank the pitch up too much....you end up with the distortion.

Its fake...100% guaranteed.

Im even going to make a couple of videos myself proving this is fake. Not tonight, probably tomorrow when i have 5 minutes to spare, and yes, it takes minutes to make fakes like this

Strange how people hear it at night a lot. I've heard that noises travel more at night, maybe that's why? Like I said though, we have heard it during the day....on a CLEAR and sunny day without a cloud in the sky, so I'm at a loss as to what it could be.

During the day there is way to much sound pollution.
Would you hear it walking up, say, the main street in new york in rush hour traffic?

The thing that really gives your phony video away is the way you are reacting to it, sounds exactly what it is a poor attempt to deceive,not the right emotion, and would never pass the scrutiny of most ATS members, however thanks for showing how easy it is to fool the masses.

Maybe its just me but this opening explanation and description make me feel a bit lead on and pulled in every so slyly.

In this one the woman is outside filming and talking when you see lights go on in other houses so they must be hearing the noise. It leads me to believe that at least this one is not a hoax... I don't know why but this video gives me the creeps.

And i find the original posters signature a hint obvious

Now i don't want to come off as some skeptical disbeliever because i defiantly would like to see some awesome footage that doesn't appear to have been corroborated.

Whether it's fake or not, I have no clue, what I do know is that the sound would be great for a horror movie soundtrack.

I know you don't know me, and it's just my word, but what I recorded was real. I WANT someone to analyze it. ATS member CL Prime analyzed one of my other recordings of the same noise, and he thinks it is atmospheric, like ducting....I'll have to find his post because I can't remember exactly what he said....but whatever it is, it's real. If it only happened once, I would have brushed it off as just a freak thing, but it has been happening off and on for 9 months or so. I have no reason to put out a fake....I am sick of all these "Trumpet" fake crap too. The original noises that started this whole thing were the ones like mine....a constant rumble/roaring with loud booms etc...I know you have no reason to believe me, but all I can say is the noises I have heard are real.

I think Kat's vids are the real deal like a few others. The OP vid reminds me of Tibetan singing bowls & gongs then added in badly at that.

IMO Hoax and here is why, and I am no sound expert, so I will stick with basic logic here.

If I was hearing something like this and had a video camera, yes I would be filming and recording the sounds, but I would not stop there. I would proceed to go to my neighbors houses who I know, knocking on as many doors as I could, while keeping the recording going. I would also be making phone calls, on my cell phone.

None of this happened, if someone hears a over bearing unknown strange sound coming from the sky, then basic survival, fear and adrenaline will kick into play, thus making the person seek out back-up, or people close by no matter what time it is.

Just my observation, I think this one is a hoax.

So, some observations from a musician, audiophile, aviation enthusiast (all will become clear) and radio broadcaster if I may.

In order for the sound to be that loud on a condensor microphone (to the point where it distorts it) it would have to be coming from a massive sound source, to the point where the woman recording it would be feeling physically uncomfortable and be being deafened. The whole street would be awake.

Now for some aviation porn. Heres one of the loudest noises I've ever heard - this is an Avro Vulcan taking off on full miltary power as if it was scrambled. Watch it all. Aside from being astoundingly cool (you get to hear the Vulcan Howl, which is due to the air intakes suddenly being thrown wide open and the engines going to full thrust and is, frankly is like GOD telling you to get the hell out of the way) it makes a point.

The guy taking this video is about 300 yards away from the runway.

Now I was there, at this very airshow when it took off I can tell you that it was so loud that people cried. It also took out some of the windows in the main hanger and set every alarm off in the car park. Its something that I'll never forget.

Nope.

You can hear the wind on the mic, and you can hear the plane, but there is no distortion.

So, imagine the external sound levels it would take to distort the mic on her camcorder?

That suggests to me that the sound is close up, or mixed in to the soundtrack at high level. It would have been so loud that I doubt she could have stood listening to it.

So I'm afraid I am VERY skeptical of this, and other claims like these - 'cause if that was a real noise this story would be headline news world wide, and its not.

possible explanation

have been studying the sun cycles and have come to the conclusion that recent sonic events heard all around the world and not entorely related to the recent solar activity but it is more likely the "sky-sounds" are related to the current seismic anomoly happening within the earth .. what I think it is is that extremely low frequency sound waves emanating from within the earth are bouncing back to the earth and are being remixed to a audible sound wave by the stratosphere .. this ties in with the fact that audible sonic resonance through nearby objects is often a by-product of very deep seismic activity which would explain a lot of the noises people are hearing .. I am fairly sure I have got this right and am fairly sure the vocanology websites will be the ones to be watching for more information .. I am leaning towards the theory that the tilt and wobble of the earths spin has more to do with current events than solar activity so that also is an area I will study a little more too .. but am kinda thinking this volcanic and seismic stuff is a regular cyclic feature in this planets geological clock but am also thinking that what we are experiencing is possibly the leadup to a one in 2000 year event which I doubt modern civilisation would be well equiped to cope with as widespread famine due to rapid climate change from a super-volcano ash-cloud induced winter would be the immediate consequence of that type of major volcanic activity .. warning sign from here would be increasinging severe earthquakes and volcanic activity throughout the world which would indicate a climatic buildup is taking place .. lets hope it all just fizzles back to normal this time round ..

This was a email sent to me from a guy in Australia who has been hearing strange sounds also, and lives aprox 20 km from recent UFO activity

After so much of these sound issues -- my CURRENT best guess is that this is due to Frakking. It's a new process (like the noise reports), it uses high pressure hot water and other solutions, and it's the only LARGE SCALE procedure that goes on in many different locations...

It's a heck of a lot cheaper for the Oil Cartels to just leave it as a mystery, and pay Shills in the media to misdirect or lie -- if it ever gets close the answer. Otherwise they'd have more heat for this environmentally bad process and they might have to compensate people for losing sleep.

It's much cheaper to lie, obfuscate, and do nothing.

I was thinking the same thing. A sound that loud waking people out of bed surely had people calling the police and complaining. She also said she heard this sound for the past 3 days!!! I also find it very strange that these "sounds" are not gathering the attention of national media. People have a right to know what these sounds are if they're waking them up at night or causing alarm. Something is fishy.
