Fundamental sugars found in deep-space.

The Washington Post, in a Science/Tech A-section box, today, published an article about the discovery of glycolaldehyde in a very cold region of space near the center of the galaxy. Glycolaldehyde is a very simple sugar that precurses ribose (one of the key components of DNA and RNA).
