If Dean Were the Candidate ....

I agree with this article. If Howard Dean were the candidate
for the Dems, things would be different. No Kerry flip flops. No
Kerry Vietnam problems. No justified shouts of 'Kerry is a traitor'.
Issues would be discussed. It would be a very different election.

Political punditry is harder than it looks. That's what a lot of Democratic voters must be thinking right about now. Last winter Democratic-primary voters played political consultant. They tried to step inside the minds of swing voters and figure out which Democratic presidential candidate could beat George W. Bush. With an eye cast coldly on November, they rejected the man who had first won their hearts, Howard Dean, and flocked to the more "electable" choice, John Kerry. Among New Hampshire voters who said beating Bush was their biggest concern, Kerry beat Dean by a whopping 52 points.

Democratic voters should stick to their day jobs. With just five weeks until Election Day, there's reason to believe they guessed wrong � that Dean would be doing better against Bush than Kerry is. Yes, it's too late for Democrats to switch horses, but imagining how Dean might have done sheds light on what's going on now. Here's the logic:

I was furious at the American people in the way the rejected Dean. I couldn't understand why they didn't want a leader who had such passion about what he believed in. If the guy is yelling that should make him even more electable. Oh well the US is a crazy country anyway...

Dean was my pick for candidate I would of voted for him in the primaries. Kerry is good but his big problem is that he's manipulated like all politicians and he just hasn't got a backbone to stand on issues and confront Bush. The ammo is out there to crush Bush's campaign forever, but he hasnt got the balls to take it.

Kerry's flip flops are rather unstable. Terry Kerry definately is.
At least with Dean there wouldn't have been all the Vietnam
chatter .... we might actually discuss issues that are happening
now.

I voted for Bush the first time and I plan to again. Although if Lieberman were running, I would definately have to second guess my vote.

He is the only dem that I could see myself voting for. Kerry hasn't got a clue, Dean I don't trust.

Just thought I'd let ya in on a republican's thoughts.

aimlessly - in 2008 I'd like to see Guiliani/Lieberman.

That would be an awesome ticket!!!! My fingers are crossed.
