What gives your the right to smash up your landlords property? You had to have seen an arrest in your near future

I don't truly understand 100%, possibly because you can't say too much, I don't know.
From what I gather, you re-entered the property after being kicked out effectively, with no warning. No exactly breaking and entering, you have a right to get your things that aren't in a bin outside.
When you say he STOLE your stuff, what do you mean? That there were objects belonging to you in the flat that he hadn't thrown out? Do you know that he had the intent to keep these things for himself?
Why did he throw your things out? If you're deep in arrears with your rent, it might be enough.
Also, how did you get housing benefit without a tenancy agreement? I didn't think you could do that. But then I've always had one, so I don't know how it would work without one.
Don't get me wrong, I'm really horrified by his actions, especially when you have a small daughter with health problems. I really hope you can find somewhere to call your own soon, with a landlord who will respect your privacy and your circumstances

It doesn't matter whether you had a contract or not actually. The fact you were paying rent gains you that contract. It doesn't need to be on paper. Did you actually get the housing benefit sorted out? He couldn't legally just chuck you out, you know? There is a procedure that they have to follow. You could have got him done for that big time! You should have phoned up the council.
He sounds like an arse though and most landlords are! I've recently moved to brum actually and I've been here for over 2 months! We still have no gas safety certificate! That is because the boiler is FECKED! But he still wants to come "check" on us after 3 months! lol
Hopefully you can wriggle out of going down though! Mitigating circumstances!
