Gonna miss ya Dick Clark.

New Years will never be the same without you.

Plus all the other great stuff he's done, American Bandstand, 100000 dollar pyramid, among others. (I know, shows my age
)

Rest in peace

Also, F### Ryan Seacreast

Who?

Are you under 25?

That might explain it...

Or not American maybe? Not everything you do over there gets spread throughout the world. Hate to have to break it to you like that.

I'm curious where the conspiracy in an old man having a heart attack is though?

Read a few post up, some people
believe he has been dead for a while,
now that is a conspiracy...

Dick clark is an american media legend
like steve was for the tech industry

On a serious note - I wish he'd have retired long ago when he still had some dignity. I hated seeing him all stroked out on New Year's Eve for the past 5 years. I'd rather go out in my prime so people would remember me that way.

A whole generation or more knows him more as a punch line rather than an icon.

Know when to fold-em Dick…

Dick Clark was a man of the people, unlike the zombie robots we have on american media today.

He loved to entertain. Even after having a stroke he continued to do what he loved. That's something I respect more than anything. Sure, it was hard seeing him after his stroke on TV, but the man never gave up.

You're not breaking anything to me.

There's no conspiracy here. If you'll notice, the mods have done their jobs and placed this thread in the correct forum. That being said "forum"...some of us might like to discuss this and remember Dick Clark and who he was and what he meant to "Americans" and our music.

Just for kicks I thought I'd post this. It seemed appropriate.

Dick Clark: This is your life

Those are great thanks...
I had respect for dick clark,
and when a man i respected dies
it hurts me... Maybe not like a close
family memeber dien but like when we found
out steve irwin died, terrible day I had..
Nothing wrong remembering this man,
steve jobs had a huge thread, whitney housten,
that english broad who sang that rehab song
had a huge thread... To my knowledge
dick was not a druggy, a bad guy, scum,
nothing, he was a great guy lets give him a little
respect please when a Mainstream media character
as big as dick dies. I really miss 25,000 50,000
and 100,000 dollar pyramid it was a great game show..

I guess he really wasn't a robot, then

R.I.P, Dick, generations grew up with you, and many of those rang in every new year with you. It takes a good person at heart to do what you did for decades & still genuinely love it

I'm pretty sure the death of Dick Clark plays into end times prophecy somehow.

RIP Dick Clark, rest in peace.

Let's keep the conspiracy theories to a minimum on this one out of respect to a guy who bought laughter and music to millions shall we?

Sometimes people just die.

d. clark was ok because of american bandstand, not because he had any type of personality. i do know that his production company made crap loads of money. i think he was worth at least a couple of 100 million dollars. but with all due respect to his passing, he wasn't anything that special to me, he was the host, that's it.

For me this files under the thread that was done some time ago about celebrities who were thought to be dead already. I wonder if anyone else thought Dick Clark had already died sometime ago.
edit on 18-4-2012 by randyvs because: (no reason given)

Could you be thinking of Don Cornelius, the host of Soul Train? He died earlier in the year.

At about 7:12 in the video he is asked about his involvement in "work for welfare" program, He then reacted like the sinister "tool" he really was. Im not a michael moore fan at all, but the piece on this documentary really burned my ass when i saw it.
