Greetings... First and foremost, it is unfortunately necessary to say that this is not a Pro-Obama thread, actually this is part two of a thread I created entitled 10+ Reasons Not To Re-Elect Obama which can be found here, 10+ Reasons Not To Re-Elect Obama.

I am of the opinion that Mitt Romney and Barrack Obama are simply two peas in the same pod. I don't feel that either one deserves our vote and I will be voting for a 3rd party candidate if Mitt Romney becomes the Republican nominee.

The popular thought on the right these days is "Anybody but Obama" well what good is it replacing Obama with another authoritarian, establishment choice? I think the mantra should be "Anybody but Obama or Romney". I would have you choose a 3rd party candidate who you can whole heatedly support. I realize this is going to be hard for people but until we end the false "choice" of two people from two party's we will only keep getting more of the same thing. Do you think it is only coincidental that Obama has carried on with the work of Bush? Or that Bush simply carried on the work of Clinton? The differences between these "choices" is simply a difference in who they pander to, not a difference in their actions.

Without further ado here are my ten reasons not to elect Mitt Romney as president. Please add your reasons below so we can all see what I left out.

#1
Mitt Romney is not who he says he is. Romney pretends to be a fiscal conservative yet he has over his career voted counter to what fiscal conservatives believe. He is a big government republican, that is the opposite of a fiscal conservative. The best that could be said of him is he is a social conservative meaning he is against the rights of certain individuals who have lifestyles he doesn't deem appropriate. I don't consider that good conservatism.

#2
Mitt Romney supported the bailouts. Even if you believe what he says now, that he would not allow something like that to happen again and that he was wrong about his position in the past, I don't see that as a good thing. We need a president who has 20/20 foresight not 20/20 hindsight.

#3
Mitt Romney will continue the wars and foreign policy of Bush and Obama. Mitt Romney supports the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, he supports military intervention and the role of the USA as policeman of the world.

#4
I just don't believe the guy. Maybe it is just me, but I can't help but think that every word that comes out of his mouth is just a well crafted rehearsed attempt to pander. I have noticed that his rhetoric changes with who he is speaking too. I want a president who tells me what he actually thinks, not what his focus group tells him to say. Romney, like Obama, is a teleprompter king. Does anybody know what this guy actually thinks because it seems to change every time he speaks?

#5
Mitt Romney supports the recent NDAA and the indefinite detention of citizens.

#6
Romney Supports the patriot act.

#7
Romney created Obama care in a sense and he also created the individual mandate while governor of Massachusetts. Even if you believe that this was just him doing what his state wanted and he regrets it now, once again We need a president who has 20/20 foresight not 20/20 hindsight.

#8
Romney is a corporatist. He believes in corporate person-hood and he would continue the pro-corporation policies of Obama.

#9
He is not the "lesser of two evils" Obama and Romney are both evil when you consider their voting records calling either of the "lesser" is IMO only believing What they tell you, not what their actions and voting records prove.

#10
Romney will not reduce spending and get us out of debt. In fiscal year 2006, government spending in Massachusetts increased by 7.6 percent. In fiscal year 2007, government spending in Massachusetts increased by a whopping 10.2 percent. Romney clearly does not mind deficit spending and his support for the federal reserve and their actions is further proof.

I have a lot more reasons why I will not be voting for Romney (or Obama) but I feel like these 10 reasons are more than enough. Please add to the list with your + reasons. I hope for this thread and my previous thread on why we shouldn't vote for Obama to serve as a resource for us all and give us the courage to buck the trend and go 3rd party in 2012. Lets throw a wrench in the plans of TPTB.

Each of these two candidates are going to give us the same outcome. Their is no lesser of two evils. Either one will keep the status quo going full steam ahead so, since it doesn't matter which of the two may win, lets devote our efforts into voting for other people.

We are going to loose no matter which of these two gets the job, the only way we can win is if we don't vote for them. We can legitimize 3rd parties with a protest vote. Lets not vote for evil anymore, even if that evil is in your eyes a bit less evil than the other, lets vote with our hearts and set a good example for the rest of the country.

I basically decided, if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination; to write my self in lol. We can all write in Ron Paul till our faces turn blue; however, if they ignored him the last year an a half, it won't make a bit of difference...so I shall elect myself lol.

That works for me. I like the title of a book I once read, it was called. "Don't Vote, It only encourages the bastards!" Maybe I will vote for you too

I realize what you are trying to say, but what I think the poster above you and myself are trying to say is, if you vote for Romney, you are voting for Obama too. We feel they are the same person, action and ideology wise.

A vote for a 3rd party, a write in or other is a vote to end the flase choice that we are presented with of two establishment people who essentially believe the same thing only with different rhetoric, not different voting records or actions.

good point. You won't be seeing me write a thread with ten reason not to vote for Ron Paul... Maybe a thread with 100 reasons to vote for him.

I can't argue with that. I think the best thing we can do is vote third party in great numbers and show people that it will no longer be a 2 person race.

My thoughts are, voting for Romney or voting for Obama, we will lose no matter who wins, but I am living in reality, one of the two will win if it comes down to those two.

My point is that since we lose either way, why not put our efforts into voting for a 3rd party in order to legitimize 3rd parties. Why keep playing the game since either vote is going to lead us to ruin?

Since either vote is a loosing vote, why vote for either of them. Yea, a 3rd party candidate might not win (probably won't) but until we show people that a third party can compete, they won't be able to. I suggest a protest vote, since voting for either of the front runners makes no difference anyways.

If you vote for Romney you just voted for white Obama.

Both are big government authoritarians who dance gleefully at your oppression.

We can't forget this either:

Also, everyone beats up Obama for signing the NDAA but, they always forget that it had to go through a Republican controlled Congress and a Senate with enough Rs to filibuster it but, it passed through them both with hardly any opposition from either side of the isle.

The Republicans are equally, if not more to blame for NDAA as Obama ever was.

It's difficult to "project" what Romney will or won't do as POTUS.

A lot will depend on Congress.

We have to assume his appointments and staff will advise based on recommendations.

Obama has a track record in Federal government.

Romney was a governor.

We are only seeing bits and pieces about policies from his governorship.

It's all speculation.

His credibility will get him elected.
