a large explosion in Suez....

ok firstly .......the link above does this story no justice...but i had to provide one...i was speaking to a friend in egypt on the phone, so this info is fresh....:

Nasr Petroleum
a vast site, near the canal, by the populous city of Suez, a national asset, employing well over its quota. a true asset to the people.

to understand the severity of this situation....
the last time this nasr petroleum company had an incident. was during a war with isreal when 2 tanks exploded from air attacks.
thats like 50 years incident free....now when there is no president..this happens

considering, that was war, and they lost only two tanks compared with todays 5 tanks which exploded!

suez is relevant because

main city bordering sinai and isreal
large milittary presence following revolution
the main/important military zone for egypt
revoltuion started in suez... ie. first police station to be burned down, first place army was deployed. etc

also i dont know if its relevant....
today is an anniversary of oil rations being lifted after the suez canal crisis in 1957

It is not known what initially caused the fire, but some workers at the refinery reported that they saw a car burning shortly before the explosion of the first butane tank.

I know with the up-tick in violence in the Sinai Israel and Egypt have been in contact. Israel allowed Egypt to deploy military units to help gain better control of that area. Before people yell at me the Sinai is suppose to be demilitarized / extremely low troop levels / presence. The conversation between the 2 was to make sure there was no wrong interpretation when Egyptian military units are deployed.

someone, somwhere is destabilising the country.

egyptians really are on top of things when it comes to secutiry and safety of their assets.
when they see any pipeline destroyed, the national consensus is that this cant be tolerated....


it could be anyone...
it could even be the military, trying to suspend elections by "infuriating" the suez population....they are the catalist to so much that happens in egypt

thaty said.....IF egypt want to cut piplines to jordan and isreal, they will, they dont need to "pretend" with fake sabotage techniques.....as this site is an egyptian asset for egyptians.....it shows that the egyptian state is being sabotaged just like jordans and isreals interests are......
