The evidence for MM is so scant we only know that she was a figure from the fishing village of Magdala and was in the Gospels character assassinated
as a prostitute. This gives way to no end of theorising about her actual existence and role in Christianity, which, as most of us know, has led her
today to the hypothesis that she is the key figure in the ever changing face of the Grail Mystery. British author Dan Green has his own unsettling
twist on the Da Vinci Code fact/fiction that propelled her most recently into this role; blog.world-mysteries.com...
She was suppressed by the established church because she, a female, was perhaps Jesus' wisest disciple, and such a notion doesn't fit in the
patriarchal world we've been in for so many centuries. She's much more prevalent in the Gnostic text though. Go read the Pistis Sophia or her own
Gospel.
Murdered? Probably not. But definitely suppressed.
