You need to start an "Anti American" thread. That way I can choose to avoid it.You are rude and crass and I am surprised your posts telling people to "shut the h*** up" have not been removed. There are rules here and you should go read the T&C's to learn how to post. ON TOPIC now....bottom line is NK's Leadership has constantly shown that they would rather spend money on things other than food for their people. It's like a bad child who keeps doing something wrong....and you tell the child "if you do that one more time, you will be punished"....the child keeps doing it, and instead of following through with your word....you give him a cookie to pacify him. The child will continue doing the bad behavior because he knows nothing will happen. That's Kim Jung Il and Kim Jung Un.....and THAT is why aid was taken away.....he doesn't deserve a cookie.

You paint with a broad brush. Do not think that the US is represented by ATS members or pubescent females who want nothing but 'world peace.' In same spirit, I promise that I will not assume that all New Zealand citizens are arrogant twits.

If you read it I am defending another poster who has been told to "shut the hell up". I responded in kind. If this guy wants to tell people to shut up Im sure he can handle me telling him the same.

Rude and crass is a positive thing sometimes. Sometimes you need to be rude to get your point across. Im sorry you are offended.

And I am not Anti-American. There are many American's that can see their government for what it is.

I am anti-Imperialist Duopoly cheerleaders and defenders. I also do not like the complicit and passive amongst you.

Edit- I also dont like the superior attitude of many arrogant Americans or how egocentric alot of you are. Like the rest of your post for example. Is America our babysitter or something. You talk like America is the adult and we are all children. Its so insulting.

Do you realize how many of your ppl are famous becouse of america?

I missed this flamer. This comment is priceless. This seems to be the intelligence level of your average American. I am not surprised nfew of you understand how Foreign Aid works.

"Do you realize how many ppl are famous becouse of America?"

Keep this laughable statement in your minds and meditate on it. It says so much. You poor souls, you of the 'land of opportunity', you chaser's of 'the american dream'.

Remember that the people you now mock kept the starving ex-Nazis alive after WW2. Europe was rebuilt mostly by the US after the Third Reich was defeated. It is likely that your ancestors were fed and clothed by American aid. There was no second treaty of Versailles to grind Germany down -- just aid for all the people of Europe. Look up the Marshall Plan and get back to us.

Oh my god. You are filled with propaganda. America did not win the War. Russia did. And you swooped in at the right time and took full advantage. And how nice of you to keep starving ex-nazi alive.
You guys are real saints hey

And when you think 'Marshal Plan' think tentacles.

Edit- And dont you find it insane that America damanded to be payed for the assistance it gave to Britan in WW2. America does nothing to help its 'friend's' without wanting something in return. I, like many Briton's find the demands to be outrageous,no mater how generous you tell me the term's were. If I help someone I expect nothing in return. America does, always has.

Where is your sympathy for all the starving Americans? Thats what irritates me the most, people claim to be these saints that care only for the good of others yet all of you forget about the problems we face here in the US, we have tons of starving people in the US yet most of you could care less about them, it feels a lot better to help a third world country... right?

I want the US to start fixing its own problems before it starts trying to fix other countries. Its not our fault that North Korea is home to all the bat# insane leaders, its not our fault that they are starving.. I swear whenever another country is in trouble if we dont help them it all of the sudden is our fault that its happening in the first place..

Trust me I wish those people over there could enjoy a hot meal and the freedom to say and do as they please but we have a LOT of problems do deal with in our own country first, once the US becomes a perfect place to live then we can start "policing" the world, but until then we need to mind our business and fix our own problems

The "holier than thou" Europeans are fun to watch. Their complete misunderstanding of what makes an American an American results in mostly trite comments, but nonetheless, it's good for a laugh.

So its the US's fault to not give free food to NK, because North Korea decided not to feed it's self, and instead is obsessed with obliterating and conquering south korea. You do know that north korea has nukes, has said over and over that they wish to turn south korea into a sea of fire. you do know that the entire world condemned all of NK's behavior for decades now. you do know that North Korea has attacked south korea in the past few years a few times. you do know that north korea goes to the DMZ and fires randomly at SK AND US troops. you do know that the country is obsessed with making war. you do know that the people of that country are miserable and it's their own regimes fault.

You do know that the US exports nearly for free a quarter of all it's grain to most of the world as a gesture of goodwill.

Yeah were the assholes I forgot. shame on the US. I'm going to go to NK now and kiss the butt of their great and benevolent leader. what was his name again? Yu Stin Ki Pu? Something like that. I forgot.

Stop having such a bleeding heart knee jerk reaction. it shows a ton of ignorance. hell if were the bad guys then who the F is the good guy in this situation?

It is interesting watching the ‘Human Animal’ come out in these posts. As I have been watching the human species I have noticed one thing, we need an enemy. We must have opposition. If you truly think about the truth, we are nothing more than a single species on a single planet.

It does seem that if we lack an enemy, one must be created. The most common way this is accomplished is through sporting events. We pick our team and hope they overcome another team. That’s it. We have absolutely no effect on ‘our’ teams abilities, but we celebrate their victories as if we were there, sometimes to the point of rioting.

What I am trying to say is that, we, as an ‘enlightened’ species should be able to accept that others may have differing viewpoints than our own. Now the question is do we examine that other opinion and see its merits and its faults or do we just make that individual’s opinion the enemy to our own views? If someone posting a comment can get our dander up, then have yet to outgrow the animal within us.

Then again, I may be completely wrong. Although, in my opinion, I see humanity still more animal than civilized, but we are also making huge strides in becoming more than who we were.

Wow reading CNN news I came across this one line ........In the meantime, the United States has suspended plans to provide food aid to North Korea as a result of the launch, Rhodes said.

Its been a very long time since i made a thread but honestly come on I am so ashamed of my country right now because the leader wanted to fire a "ROCKET" we are going to starve the people
WoW I am so undeniable proud of the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT. Honestly when our Sheep finally wake up the governments going to be in a world of hurt by its own civil war.

STOP CALLING IT A MISSILE PEOPLE
"Initial indications are that the first stage of the missile fell into the sea 165 km west of Seoul, South Korea," they said in a news release. "The remaining stages were assessed to have failed and no debris fell on land. At no time were the missile or the resultant debris a threat."

please grow up. omg this is turning into a rant.........does anybody else think the "SUPERPOWERS" are actually scared.......because the way they are acting to me it appears as if there is a mild amount of fear.

the fearmongering article link is --->
www.cnn.com...

MODS IF I MISPLACED THIS PLEASE LEMME KNOW.

So it's the US's fault that north Korea chose to spend 800 million dollars on this rocket, instead of feeding their starving people? So, it's our fault that they violated, knowingly, the ban on launching such rockets?

Clueless.

Eta: and yor ARE aware that north Korea has nukes, right? And they are a rogue nation? You DO understand the worlds concern of their testing rockets as a delivery method for said nukes, right? But no, we shouldn't be worried because they have starving people. (face palm)

Of course you don't.

I take it you believe everything you hear on TV, OMG NO< THEY GOT NUKES...of course in the USA the food versus weaponry argument does not exist.

Who in the world is concerned with the nuke problem being delivered, Fear everything, good for you.

Oh man, people are starving,, SURE they are... none of this makes any sense, and your post is classic Christian fear mongering.

Fact is i am being abit sarcastic here, but you do not seem to realize that all of YOUR fear hurts the WORLD...and we are sick of it, tired of it, why not grow up and stop ruthlessly using fear to explain why your country is turning into the same thing as whay you FEAR.

So your saying, it is okay for other countries to have the right to tell "your" country what to do and set sanctions and laws preventing your country from obtaining goods, even though they are not part of your country or on your side of the world?

While at the same time, that "country" telling you not to do something or you'll be in trouble, is in fact doing everything they're telling others not to while facing no consequences.

My point, if you tell someone not to do something, you don't do it yourself.

We "United States" are constantly building nukes while telling other countries not to. We "United States" sell those nukes to other countries, lose the nukes during war times (happened many times), and misplace nukes or be careless with nukes (i.e. flying over the U.S. with a plane load of nukes). A country that careless with their nukes have no right to tell other countries what they can or cannot do.

I know stories about things that happened on nuke bases in the US that would scare the stupid out of people. I'm amazed we hadn't blown ourselves up already, just a matter of time...

No....I didn't mean to make it sound like that....I was just using a common analogy. I apoligze if it sounded that way. I do not feel anyone is superior to another. I was using that analogy because it makes a point. Rewards for bad behavior only reinforce bad bahvior.

I used to work with kids when I was younger. I find this method of behaviour managment to be flawed. A good deed is its own reward after all. (rewards to reinforce positive behaviour)

And dont apologize. And I agree,Ive been pretty rude. I mean no harm.

The food aid is given to their elite and military. The masses can starve and being " skin & bones " cannot revolt or pose any danger to the regime. Look at how fat and well fed Kim Jung Un is. Why waste money on rocket technology. This is one country that really needs liberation but....there is no oil or gas there so there will be no returns for the effort.

So many say it is inhumane to "stop" feeding NK....Well I need to ask why should we need to feed them in the first place? Its like I give a homeless guy on the street 20 bucks a week and one week I stop and now I'm inhumane...

The "inhumane" part is how NK treats their own people....SK is not starving and we are not feeding them....

You need to put the word FREE in front of "goods". Even China is tired of NK... Also the Korean war is not over and we do support SK....
