Don't like it? Don't watch or read it. Pretty simple really. Whining about how awful something is and how it offends your moral sensibilities does exactly nothing. For those of us who like to keep abreast of everything that happens in this world, threads of the type you decry can be a source of information that can give perspective. Ranting about it, while your right, only exacerbates the perceived offenses. Oh, and what exactly is wrong with Game of Thrones? It is a wonderfully thought out and produced piece of fantasy that has parallels to our own sordid history. You need to toughen up and take off your rose-colored glasses. The world has been and is a tough place.

In addition to your comments on Game of Thrones, I found it scarring, but that doesn't mean that I don't love it. It is just that George R. R. Martin created such a realistic and visceral world in his books that I felt it. That is what lead me to glean an inkling of what war may be like. The book series is incredible. The series on HBO amazes me as well because they actually manage to build on the books as well as interpret them very well into a visual media. The scenes they had with Robert and Cersei as well as other characters who don't have independent scenes in the books such as Renly and Loras truly do manage to add something to the series.
