Quick observation that just noticed, that did not want to have buried in the Sumatra quakes thread, that felt could be worth monitoring closer, the EQ activity and alerting everyone here to digest.

other than the Sumatra quake, there isn't much to worry about here, especially because more than half of those 5+'s are pre or aftershock from the Sumatra quake itself. Although, I do believe earthquakes should be monitored closely especially after today's rattler. thanks for the info though.

We'll see, will look at past data on recent quakes and see if this theory holds true...as aftershocks on the whole planet at random times, is for sure what, we are looking at, however the larger magnitude of 5.0 or greater, is still increasing,

Updated earthquake 3D and was, 2X more 5.0 roughly, than when started this thread, an hour or so ago, so if things feel like they are shaking,
...all over...

....more than usual amount,

....well

...they are...

....turbulence is occurring and in an increasing amount and

...with weaning of the moon

....

...until the next wave, as lunar influence variable cycle induced...

...so tomorrow there will not be as many or if increases, then it is safe to say, they are not just "aftershocks",

and lunar influence and other forces may be at play, so will keep any eye on it and note any anomalies or abnormalities and hope anyone else who is following will keep us posted as well, as regions and frequency, for sure show more, than the data presented here, so for those who do not have monitoring software.

earthquake 3d Free or Pro, recommended for overview and displaying monitoring.

All the 5s are attributed to the unrest near Sumatra. You'll notice that there are barely any other 5s worldwide, so aside from these two large events, the 5+ mags are still at a decrease.

Since the 4th it has been exceptionally quiet at times.

Pacific Ring of Fire: Busy April 11, 2012; Indonesia, Mexico and U.S.A

www.blindbatnews.com

April 11, 2012, has turned out to be a busy day for magnitude 5+ earthquakes, around or adjacent to the Pacific Ring of fire.

Oregon, United States, experienced a 5.9 quake just off its coastline.

Alaska, United States, had a 5.5 quake.

Michoacan, Mexico got hit with a 6.5 quake.

The Banda Sea area (east of Indonesia, north of Australia) had a 5.3 quake.

And then there’s Sumatra, Indonesia, and the Indian Ocean area. 32 quakes ranging from magnitude 5 to 8.6 in just 24 hours!

The uptick in earthquakes, although it may seem to be an increasing trend or something else ominous, may be partly due to the fact that, in the last 50 years, we have much superior technology for detecting, locating, and measuring earthquakes. Before then, there were not nearly so many seismic observatories, especially in the third world, so a great many earthquakes were vaguely and imperfectly reported.

Same with weather reports; before weather satellites in the last 50 years, storm systems were imperfectly reported based on ground observers and on airplanes that very sensibly tried to avoid going through the storm systems.

We have much better technology now for detecting earthquakes, even in areas with sparse population and few communications lines to the wider world, so we know of more earthquakes that happen. This, by itself, may not indicate an actual trend in the number or severity of earthquakes.

Yes, for sure we are monitoring better would explain the rise in quakes, over the past 50 years, in another thread, posted a thread about some off shore quakes in Oaxacca region, where noticed some appearing like in Sumatra, with less magnitude, however like the aftershocks, all were in such close proximity, that it noted as clear hot spot to watch, as most quakes are spread out in general through out the day, and notice some are clustered together more or on lines, like pacific ring of fire, as seems like we are monitoring them well now and any increase from today on, would be abnormal activity, that can be called an increase, as hope we have a benchmark to go off of...

Massive Number Of Earthquakes Go Unreported In Last 3 Days!
Saturday, April 14, 2012 3:31

United States Geological Survey has reported an astounding number of earthquakes in the last 3 days. The one near Honshu Japan was reported on the network news,

but what was not reported was the other 40 which have occurred all over the world on 4/10/2012 through 4/11/2012.

There have been 7241 earthquakes in the last 30 days. The number in the last year is astounding!

My question is why have the major networks reported on this increase in worldwide earthquakes? I am not an alarmist by any means, but to me this is a cause for genuine concern.

Of all these earthquakes over 200 were over 2.5 in magnatude.Well over 50 of the recent few days were ranging from 4.5 to 7.0 in magnatude. These are serious Quakes which are not being mentioned. The solar flare activity on the Sun may have something to do with all this, but the silence of the media makes me wonder what's up.
