Indonesia issues tsunami warning after 8.9 quake

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — Indonesia issued a tsunami warning Wednesday after an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 8.9 hit waters off westernmost Aceh province.
People on Twitter said tremors were felt in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and India. High-rise apartments and offices on Malaysia's west coast shook for at least a minute.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the powerful quake was centered 20 miles (33 kilometers) beneath the ocean floor around 308 miles (495 kilometers) from Aceh's provincial capital.

This just happened a few minutes ago.

Im glad a Tsunami warnings been issued... looks like the governments have learned from the last "event".

I was at work when this happened....and could feel it here in India. Noticed the water in my glass move and knew there was something going on. First time Ive ever experienced such a thing.

I hope the damage from this is minimal.... and 8.9 quake is pretty serious.

Danish TV says that the Thai authorities warns that a tsunami will hit within the hour.

We should pray that it is enough for an complete evacuation.
