Darkness originates from a source, as does Light.

That's just wrong and bad science. Darkness doesn't have an origin. Darkness is the absence of light.

Touche. Perhaps the word I was looking for was "evil" or maybe "deception" or "falsehoods"

Ahh... but without darkness there can be no light...

Two sides of the same coin

This is true too.

Mind = blown.

I'm going to lay down and entertain my carnal desires, peace be with you all!

That's an interesting and valid perspective.

But, has anyone really observed true darkness? (Calvin darkess) God really didn't include darkness in his creation. We have the sun and moon and the stars, so even on a moonless night, we still have the stars. Is there a place of darkness anywhere in the universe? I don't know. But surly, even the lake of fire will be lit!

Sure there are dark and cloudy times, when we may look for, and find, a cave to hide in. But even then, in reality, our own body heat emits some kind of light. Even in death, I'm told, there is a light.

I think darkness is only a metaphor for ignorance, fear and anything scary and uncomfortable.

I beg to differ...

I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Everything is included in "creation"...

you don't have to explain it
science and philosophy go hand in hand with religion and politics...

its all the same stuff, science was given birth of philosophy back in the day in its base form it was alchemy... we've come along way since the dark ages and some people still do not know why.

the truth is everybody wants to know what those lights are in the sky... if some are earthbound and can;t make the connection of it all, then they can remain slaves to an establishment which is trying to deny them or give them a new truth.

...we are what we eat

Well, that's a pretty poem, (Job?) but I doubt that it's god's work.

But, we could say darkness is relative. God created relativity and dualism.

Darkness has many forms... both physical and spiritual...

Gnostics believed that the physical world was evil...

And you'll find materialism does have its reprecussions as well...

It seemed appropriate considering your reply... you mentioned the sun, moon and stars...

Isaiah by the way...

What didn't God create?

Something for you to ponder

God is out there... up in the sky...

this consciousness came form somewhere and that is from the light itself.

I like Carl Sagan's little phrase "we are the universe becoming aware and trying to learn about itself"

but there is always a mystery regardless like where did light come from in the darkness?

the Big Bang lol just doesn't cut the mustard...

I don't think the world is evil or a prison or a punishment.

I toy with the idea that life is a kind of spiritual university, or maybe even a "cosmic Disney World, and we're all on the ride our karma card could afford. When we earn karma points, we can go on another ride, that we can afford.
(Note to self: fun thread idea)

I agree actually... though the idea of Earning Karma is self defeating... Positive Karma comes from love... seeking a reward is more self oriented.

Eastern and New Age philosophies call it Karma or Karmic law, Jesus called it Sowing and Reeping, and you're spot on.

And....I'm married, :p

I'm also addicted to this dang website, lol. Someone pointed out to me in another thread that I have an addiction to this website and I have to (stubbornly) agree with them....

Can't get enough ATS - should be a T shirt for us to wear.

Wow, Op, you really should look at the world around you and quit scape goating the New Age movement. If there is any religion or belief system that the TPTB is and will try to force upon humanity it is your next of kin, Islam. It certainly isn't the big,"bad boogeymen" New Agers.

Jesus was a man who came and went. A beautiful man with great teachings, but I'm afraid I just don't see him returning, especially in a "New Age" fashion. Please don't follow anybody who should come who would claim to be the Messiah if he exhibits any non-Biblical qualities. That's just asking for trouble. Look at what happened with Charles Manson.

Good post,

S&F

It amazes me how many people are deceived into believing the New Age lie - they mash and grind New Age theology and Christian concepts and they define there own "god" and make up there theology as they go.

The thing is, either the Bible is 100% true, or its 100% false. There is no "75% of its true" or "cherry picking". It's really an all or nothing deal.

Either YHVH is God over the Universe and Christ Jesus is YHVH in the flesh and the Bible is 100% true - or none of it is true.

You cannot choose to believe in God while at the same time denying Him, His Son, and His beloved Book...

Wow if the Bible is either 100% true or 100% false you guys are in trouble...

And to the post above ^^^^ don't come down on Charlie Manson too hard - he predicted the "Race War" everyone's been startin threads about lately in the 60s. He called it Helter Skelter
