A little background: I was recently separated from the military for some minor injuries (and after realizing what our military/gov is really all
about, thanks to the last year spent reading posts on this and other sites). I received about $30k upfront and have absolutely NO financial
responsibilities/bills right now. I'm leaving September 1, 2012 to backpack/travel for 1 year. I'll be going to Australia, Cambodia, Vietnam/Laos,
India, Malaysia, Nepal, Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya, Ukraine, and Romania. I'll be returning to the United States August 31, 2013 with approx $100k.
Again, I have no financial responsibilities and no ties to any place in particular. I have contacts that I could temporarily stay with in Alaska,
Washington, North & South California, Arizona, Central Texas, Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. I also might not be opposed
to moving to one of the countries I'm visiting on my trip. Some of my very close friends work in the dark parts of the military like CAG and my
brother/cousin works as CWO3 in Counter-Intelligence. I'm worried that while I'm on my trip, hyperinflation will ensue and my $100k won't feed me
for a week. I expect foreign troops on American soil. I don't trust the American dollar, the banks, stock market, and I know that silver & gold are
just "rocks" in a SHTF scenario. Basically, I'd like advice on where you'd live, what you'd do with the money, how would you prepare?
Thank you in advance for your input. What a crazy time we live in!
Alex
