Interesting post,as a fellow photographer, (started with an Olympus OM10 in the 80's) I did not carry my experience through to the digital age. Your post made me realise how much i had forgotten, I was a graphic designer in the acetate days, with bellows cameras in A2 film sized processing baths (all under red light) and the advance of digital made me lazy but prodigious, I now take many more exposures (because they are free) and I feel that I have lost the critical judgment that came with making each shot count.. I examine my photos on a screen deletable) rather than on paper at their birth in admittedly nicely mildly intoxicating fluid..
anyway I digress and have lost my train of thought in a wave of chemical nostalgia .
On topic I believe that we chose the photos that looked contemporary (usually overexposed) and our perception of the early days was influenced by the fashion of the day. Not to mention inferior photographic captures.

Sun looks the same to me.

But yeah the sun changes did you expect it to stay the same?

Oh and staring at the sun, my kid can for as long as I could when I was a kid...BUT GUESS WHAT...I can't!!!! OMG OMG the sun changed...no...my eyes did! As you get older your eyes do not contract to light as good as they used to and AND if you are a office slug even more so...

Sorry but so what if the sun changes what are you going to do about it? If it explodes what is your plan? Do you really believe if this will happen that it would be feasible or even possible to save everyone?

Stop spreading fear, and relax...if the sun turns blue or red so what...? We will remember fondly a yellow sun, or we wont be here! LOL

Another spot-on post. Don't discount it.

And for you and everyone else, all that needs to be said has already been said. Trying to keep up with the latest post just dwindles your time away. I'll keep at if for at least a little while longer. But if the truth hasn't resonated with you thus far, it never will. For those that keep looking for the last post, eventually it won't be mine. And to those, they'll believe their suspicions were right all along: that I was fos. And that's a good thing, for them.

This is exactly the problem. "For you, there is no change." We all live on the same planet under the same rules. My Sun is not going to be different from yours. The Sun does vary, yes, but not to the degree that the OP seems to think is occurring. The mere fact that you readily admit that evidence has not been seen but still agree with the OP is astounding.

What is exactly the problem?

That we have different PERCEPTIONS and literally SEE things differently?

This is what I said and it was even quoted by YOU just now... lol... Read it AGAIN.

I for one have been researching this subject for a long time and I think the OP makes some credible and valid points and there is evidence that backs it up

I didn't readily agree there is no evidence... THERE IS evidence. lol Seek and you will find. Open your eyes to MY perception and you will see as I do. Or don't..... its a choice you have to make. Research it... or not.

welcome awakened one. I'm new here too, but not new to life or to what you've witnessed. been in your parts when I was in the military many years back, but back then I didn't see the criss-crosses.

Sometimes what isn't said is more important than what is said. One shouldn't discount their gut feeling, regardless if it can be scientifically verified or not. This is why the majority come to sites like this. And never before have facts caused someone to believe in something or not. Take Jesus and his words and times for example.

Simply because there is a high amount of people that believe things without evidence is no reason to justify your own lack of evidence. You're suppoesed to deny ignorance, not propagate it.

We're both in agreement that the earth is closest to the sun during this time, right? Should make us think about the perfect alignment come this december. the only thing that can possibly save us is the moon. haha, that's really far out...

The sun will ALWAYS be close to the earth in December for the southern hemisphere, its called Summer and will last for 3 months! Yes there might be an alignment around the 21st, there have been others in the past, and I'm not sure how the moon can save us? Space1999?

what was the source of superman's powers? from a white sun? haha I think not. probably doesn't fit a good response to your post, but since you agree with me, I thought I'd share it in any case.

I hate to admit something so non scientific or a result of a qualitative change truly measured. But, I can tell a difference as well.....whether or not it has anything to do with 2012 or just circumstance is not anything we can say with true merit. I feel it is important to discuss possibilities and then maybe more research is due, it is in this case due and important for us to consider the possibility something is different and maybe we are not being told the real science behind why...Is this also a possibility????? I say of-course it is. Thanks for your post,

What do you mean reclassified? As far as I know the Sun has not been reclassified.

Total solar irradiance since 1850:

The variation between the lowest and highest values amounts to a change of 1.32 w/m^2, or 0.1%. That would be totally unnoticeable to the human eye.

The only thing I'm able to say about your excellent post (btw) is that if you have a condition that you can't perceive changes in brightness, then I don't think you qualify (excuse me for saying) to say the sun has either increased or decreased in its brightness.

What I also meant to say previously is that I know car headlights have got better over the years, but it's only in the last 3 or 4 years that the same cars I was ok with previously now cause me discomfort. But I think you misinterpreted my point and I perceive changes in luminosity better than most, most other peoples eyes (except maybe yours) do react a lot quicker so they don't see the change as much as I do.

One of those Russian Zenit B things as my first SLR followed by the legendary Pentax ME Super, and the use of manual split screen focussing where I'd focus 3 or 4 times even on static objects just to make 100% certain it was in perfect focus.Even today with my Canon EOS DSLRs with autofocus I still press the AF button the same number of times,I guess some habits you can never kick.

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was that someone finally posted this topic on ATS! I noticed big time because I moved from Canada to the South of Spain, and let me tell you the sun here always shines. I remember when I was younger it just seemed more orangey-yellow - I am not the only one who has made the statement either in my neck of the woods.

There are many retired British Expats here where I live and many have said something is different. It's actually quite funny...well maybe funny is the wrong word to use, but the ones who told me flat out I didn't know what I was talking about and I was a crazy conspiracy nut was the Religiously devoted. Not to start an argument about Religion - believe me, on ATS that is the last thing I would ever want to do!

After watching that montage of events in 2012 this morning, (20 minute video posted on ATS earlier today) it just hit me! I wondered how the world would react to the OBVIOUS changes taking place if there was in fact no religious dogma, or high powered individuals, or religion mixed with politics trying to scream louder than science. What would it be like today? What kind of stuff would we know, and what sort of warnings would we be given?

Anyway, just my opinion! Thanks for the post!

I personally don't like anything or anyone that has a one-eyed thingy in their moniker.

that aside, if you think this is about spreading fear, your own fears are completely misguided, like the rest of your life I'm sure, as again attested by your moniker graphic.

you have completely, utterly, and in all other ways, missed the point.

I'm not a scientist, nor am I an accredited researcher, but I do my best to learn all that I can about things that interest me. In my opinion, there are too many strange things happening with the weather, uptick of natural disasters, mass animal deaths, strange "new" diseases popping up in both man and beast and cosmic anomalies to just ignore it and say it has all happened before. Wouldn't it be equally ignorant to turn a blind eye to these changes without looking into the reason...no matter how speculative some theories may be?

very good, thanks. I hope I've been open and honest about everything thus far. If someone makes a valid point, even if it disagrees with me, then good. But if they don't or if at least I don't think it is, I can do no other than respond to how I feel about it. IMO anyway, only one has come close to providing a valid counterpoint. I said either on this thread on the other that I can't withstand a challenge or pure technical grounds. And I make no excuses for that. I am who I am. But I know I still play a part, as insignificant as it may be. But for some of you I can only hope it's enough. Baby steps, after all. I know I needed a simple nudge at the time in my journey's beginning. I do wish I could do more, but it is what it is.
