A NEW species of dinosaur unearthed in China is the biggest feathered animal known to science.
Three skeletons have been found, an adult that would have weighed 1400kg and two 500kg young ones.
"They were more like the fuzzy down of a modern baby chick than the stiff plumes of an adult bird," he said. Yutyrannus was 40 times heavier than the next biggest feathered dinosaur, Beipiaosaurus.
