In time we would teach them, they would become westernised and lose all their culture and adopt ours. In modern times we don’t do that, we actually fence off their territory and make it a no go area, kind of like a nature reserve. We try not to influence their culture by introducing our techno gadgets…we understand that this is wrong in the long term and causes more suffering then help. We would only intervene in a serious way if some disaster/disease was about to wipe them out.
What is so hard to understand?

"We have absolutely no evidence that aliens exist at all"
Wrong.
YOU have no evidence.
Many of US do. Through contact, sightings, wisdom and knowledge.

Our shared theory? That if there are advanced civilizations out there they are not friendly.
My evidence? Every. Single. Species. On Earth. If a species isn't killing it's own it's killing another. Even plants will choke each other out competed for a spot in the sunshine. It's possible that life evolved out of peace and love on other planets, but all the evidence available to us suggests otherwise.
Life on Earth, at least, is violent and competitive. We have absolutely NO evidence that aliens exist at all, and if they did, that they would be peaceful. How can you write this whole thing up knowing that you cannot back up a single claim?
So why aren't the aliens here yet? Well, it could be that they're afraid of us like you claim. I mean, they mastered intergalactic travel to get here, but definitely can't compete with our bullets and nukes. That makes sense.
It's more likely that if life exists, it's in tiny habitable pockets throughout the universe. Our radio signals haven't even reached the end of our own galaxy yet, and we've heard no response. Why are we so arrogant to believe we're so special that aliens, out of all the vastness of space, would choose to come here? Chances are that to anyone watching from a distance, they are seeing an ancient version of Earth with no signs of civilization..
So I'm not saying your theory is impossible, just that it's the least likely answer and is based on scifi novels, bad television, and a lack of understanding of reality.
Please try to stop talking about things you know absolutely nothing about as if you are privy to some secret information the rest of us don't have.

Having said all that, do you believe disclosure by the aliens is something that will happen soon?

I am reading the posts in this thread and feel so much empathy for your position. You are indignant and angry for some reason. The OP's post implies that part of the maturation of a species includes shedding the anger, violence and co-dependent competition. The maturation of a species involves understanding and spiritual evolution.
You are correct. Violent, angry people who actually believe that survival of the fittest, kill or be killed, is the only means of existence will not be participants in welcoming any outside influence. Not all ET's are benign, I am sure probability has allowed for some to achieve means of interstellar travel without 'good intent'. I also believe that as a species truly matures, the typical behavior is growth and understanding for so many of the same reasons people claim that competition is deadly. Resources are not infinite, emotions do exist (in humans anyways) and the desire to improve oneself can manifest in many ways.
Asking someone to stop communicating in a rational, albeit speculative, manner is tantamount to social control.
I hope things get better for you. Peace.
