Not true.

SO is the only person with access to u2u's and he doesn't do it unless he is prompted by the member.

To be fair...

I used to receive a U2U every single time Slayer posted a new thread.


And NOT once was I asked, prompted or coerced into "Starring and Flagging" it.

Maybe I am not one of his friends so I can't speak for them, but having received many, many U2U's about his new threads, I can say with certainty and without bias, that I was never asked to star or flag them.


Maybe just U2U-ing people and advertising your threads is a no-no or considered "bad form" I have no idea to be honest, But it never bothered me too much.

If it was a topic I liked, I'd post or read it... If I didn't like it, I'd move on and look elsewhere.

I think it's pretty pathetic and sad to have a thread about favourite or least favourite members in the first place.

Who cares... people read who they read or, like many, they just read all the posts in whatever thread they're in.

The Faux Celebrity Status that some achieve and aspire to on this site is also sad, pathetic and very needy and attention seeking.

But oh well... what can ya do?

Possibly, but I tried to limit thread invites to members who have [Posted previously in related threads on certain topics of mine] "Ancient civilizations" etc for example who genuinely seemed to have enjoyed the topic and thought they'd appreciate a headsup "U2U" to the latest related thread.

Speaking of which, I've always valued your input [Just like I did the fore mention member "Now banned"] points of view even if I disagree with it.

It keeps me on my toes.

Maybe some found it annoying, underhand, manipulative...

I am not saying these things because I think them myself... but it seems that I guess people were annoyed that you did it?

I have no idea whether there was a thread about it? Whether it's against T&C or anything..

Like most, I've been spending less and less time here so may have missed it?


As I said, never bothered me and I always enjoyed most of your threads... was no bother to me at all.


I also value your input but to be honest, I've very rarely ever been in the same thread or same subjects as you and very rarely ever debated or had discussions disagreements with you.

Just never seems to happen and never in the same areas of ATS I guess.


But yeah... enjoy reading a lot of people on ATS, some banned some still here.... The place is diverse and fantastically peculiar.

I am not going to single out anyone as the best, because that is a matter of opinion. However, I have much respect for those who take a lot of time and effort in compiling their threads with facts and objective commentary. That is just me though. I feel objectivity is important to open the door to new ideas and collaboration about a given subject. If you wear your views on your sleeve the answers you get will always be the ones you want to hear. Nobody learns anything that way. That is my humble opinion.

As for the best on ATS and since I have been known to toot my own horn on countless occasions. Drum roll please, I would have to say myself. Since politicians often vote for themselves on ballets, and why not vote for myself as well? Sarcasm aside, I have a lot of favorites and to single out just one would be unfair. There is a lot of talent here, and everyone contributes in their own special ways.

FTR, sometimes we u2 invites to other members either because we think they may be interested, or because we want their opinion in that thread. I have never invited someone with the hope of more S&F's. I will add, I think it's rude(or I just get butt hurt , dang ego ) to not respond at all to these invitations, but at the same time, this is the interwebz, and I can appreciate some not choosing to respond to private U2'S, for whatever reason....it's all good.

To be honest i don't have a favorite member on ATS ..As far as who's post would you consider to be the best on ATS thats not a very fair question ive seen some post by members that are not popular and stay in the back ground that have posted some threads i thought were well thought out and stood out but were sadly passed over..

I've also made alot of cherished friends on ATS since ive been here some have made a huge impact on my life and im thankful for that..

As far a Slayer goes i have gotten a few U2Us in the past ..He knows i have a interest in the Ancient civilizations forum ..But in all honesty ive NEVER had him ask for any stars or flags in his U2Us to me and why would he bother hes already has thousands of both..

I thought I was a thread killer I believe the original idea was to share our favorites so that we could each find new favorites we had perhaps not been exposed to. Why it has become who has the biggest hoo ha is beyond me. I think you won.

Hello, I always enjoy coming to this site to read the thoughts and ideas of many people. I would estimate 85% of the people posting are uninformed or just chime in and offer nothing to the conversation. There are some who attempt to post meaningful well thought out replies or start a good post. Do you have a favorite member? Who's post would you consider to be the best on ATS? Please give name and the topics they usually post under. I like to follow a person from start to end of the topic and see how they form their ideas. I usually have nothing to add so yes I am one of the 85%. Thanks for any help.

I did a similar thread several months ago but it was focused more on members who use the best non-MSM resources. Mostly, the responses matched the WATS.

SLAYER69 was the "winner" and I think he should have put in his candidacy for POTUS at that point...This dude is a walking encyclopedia-

Strange happening that I haven't seen much from him on above but I'm sure he is creating a thread as I write.
