First off, this is Massive, OVER 10 Million cards!

Wow, are we sure about this?

That's a pretty decent percentage of the American population, ironically about the same as the number of people who vote. I never understood why someone would want a credit card anyways, I don't ever buy anything that I can't pay for up front.

This is interesting. I'm not sure if my experience has anything to do with this but yesterday my husband and my bank account was hacked. We have a debit card with chase. Someone hacked our online banking profile and added 3 credit cards, 2 of which were chase mastercards and proceeded to transfer around 6k out of our savings into our checkings and then started making payments of about 3-4 k on each of these credit cards.

Thank god I checked my bank account 2x that day, once in the morning and for no apparent reason in the early afternoon I saw thousands of dollars missing. Talk about heart stopping moment of the year!

Long story short we were very lucky in that chase was processing these as bill payments which means we were able to cancel them before they posted because they were still pending. If I hadnt noticed until later they may have gone through and then the process gets so much more complicated.

So word of warning make sure your computer is protected to the max! And your phones! If you do online banking, make sure you are protected!! Scary scary, never thought it would happen to us!

I received a new cc from Chase about 2 months ago saying our account may have been compromised, there were no odd charges, it just came out of the blue.
I wonder if it related to this?

I believe Chase was mentioned in the article.
My financial institution just started a new layer of protection today.

Just like the Billions of bail-out-money, the MSM has quit reporting on this.
