Seems like someone just needs somebody to hate on. There are much more evil and secretive people in the world than magicians and entertainers.

Interesting thing is, some people I know are convinced Criss Angel actually has magic powers, but then I rebute them saying 1) if he had magic powers he wouldn't need television and marketing deals to make a living, and 2) almost every "amazing" trick he performs is obscured by some device (either physical or camera angles) to hide the mechanics of the illusion.

David Blaine on the other hand...awesome but creepy.

I am not buying this at all, and feel that the author of that rant is probably a bit unstable. But, I will say that both of these magicians seem "off" to me. Like they very well could be evil. I am not psychic or able to pick up on many things, but there are occasions when I get impressions about people like everyone else...And my impressions about them are that they are strange for some reason.

Reminds me of how my grandma always used to say that Jack Nicholson looked evil. I guess it was his eyes and/or facial features. I don't really know.

Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out, but the clip where he walks through the gate, let's think about it for a moment. There were pallets and a dumpster inside the walls and criss says that the metal gate is the only way out. The clip didn't show the far end of the wall but if that gate is the only way out, how the hell does the the trash truck get in there to empty the dumpster?

It seems the whole trash area was built specifically for the illusion. Just like david copperfield used to do for his tv specials.

yes indeed, the plywood enclosure is a prop to hang the 'metal gate on...


look back on the video..at the 2:00- 2:03 mark... when he is preparing to pass thru the metal bars
he puts his right leg out between the bars ... but the horizontal spacing bar that is about knee high to Criss seems to just Not be there because Criss does not have to lift his leg to straddle that bar
but he did have to step over the bottom frame (1" square tube) of the gate which is about 4" off the ground itself


Notice too how Criss had to step forward--again, after his left foot & torso 'passed' through the metal bars... he had to advance far enough away from the trick gate (close to 20+ inches) for the springs and hinged parts to return to the normal (solid/rigid) position the illusion calls for
