Just to de-escalate the anger a bit, I'm pretty sure he was using a generic "you"...like how "you" might say "you have to put your socks on before your shoes" or "you never wear stripes with polka-dots" or some such nonsense.

The guy who runs the business next door is Pakistani and other than some jokes that fall a little flat, he's ok. We bitch and moan about customers all day long and his cousin and I have long conversations about religion and beliefs...pretty normal people, just a different culture is all.
