The judge who was originally assigned the case was Circuit Judge Jessica Recksiedler, one of four possible judges to oversee what Zimmerman's attorneys and the state expect to be a trial process that could last well into 2013.

Zimmerman's attorney Mark O'Mara asked that Recksiedler step aside because she is married to an attorney who works in the same law firm as Mark NeJame, a legal analyst for CNN, who has been outspoken about the case.

The second judge picked to preside over the controversial case also stepped aside because of a conflict of interest, sources told ABC News.

The court then named Judge Lester to handle the case.

It's the latest in a series of twists in the case which began with the original prosecutor, Norman Wolfinger, recusing himself. That was followed by weeks in which Zimmerman was in hiding which ended in a bizarre announcement the attorneys he had hired announced that Zimmerman had left them.

Zimmerman, who is now represented by Mark O'Mara, is facing second degree murder charges, which could carry a life sentence for the 28 year old. O'Mara filed a motion on Monday for Judge Recksiedler's removal.

There was a conflict of interest because her husband is a lawyer - - who's firm had been contacted by Zimmerman.

Because this judge was so impartial and would do anything
she could to get zimmerman convicted? that why you like her huh?

Good looking out though on the zimmerman news updates
even though we oppose each others views you are a great
compliment to the thread, and the day the verdict of not guilty
is reached is the day i am waiting for.

Maybe if you watched the video you would know she is right.

Her (the former judge) husband works for a law firm that was contacted by Zimmerman to represent him. The lawyer he talked at that law firm recommended Zimmerman to his current lawyer he has now. That same lawyer is also a paid analyst for CNN and HLN for this very case. Also, the lawyer that recommended Zimmerman to his current lawyer is good friends with Zimmermans current lawyer. It really did have conflict of interest written all over it, the judge knew it, and recused herself.

Why don't you quit picking on someone who is making factual comments about the case. You yourself have not added very much to this conversation.

No I liked her because I happen to find young, powerful, smart women to be fascinating. She is only like 36 years old, or something, and is a judge. I don't know anything about her, personally, I was basing that opinion purely on her power, age, and position. She didn't get to be a judge at such a young age if she isn't qualified and most likely brilliant. I admire strong women like that, so sue me.

on zimmermans guilty in treyvons so innocent favor this young
hot intelligent judge might of just had landed the case

Maybe there wouldn't have been so many conflicts of interest for Orlando judges if Zimmerman hadn't called all around town and been turned down by every other lawyer. Ever think of that?

At the present moment there absolutely zero evidence either for or against Zimmerman.

I do believe there was probable cause to make an arrest and am glad one was made.

As for now, the way I see it, I actually believe if any justice is to be served it needs to be Zimmerman that gets justice and not the State. The protections that we have in place are for those accused of a crime.

He is the accused so we must make sure that none of his rights get violated up to and including his trial.

If it reaches trial, I personally believe it will not, it will be a very interesting case and I am sure that both sides will introduce evidence into court that none of us are even slightly aware of. There will be more few bombshells in this case.

Nothing is really evidence, until it is accepted by the court as such and put on exhibit. So yeah, you are right, there is technically no evidence at all in the case so far, either for or against

Please forgive me if I provide a brief situation analysis. I've followed along, but not for all 251 pages I'm not a super human, such as Pops believes Zimmerman to be. This blind ignorance from the OP has caused me to lose faith in human morality, part of the reason is that there are a ton of cheerleaders on the sidelines rooting for him.

A sad state of off affairs we exist in when such a normal even can dictate the discussion on a site like ATS. I certainly agree that this is a serious issue that deserves attention, but this is just overkill. I've seen good points on both sides, and have seen some great debate. Op though, is a fanatical maniac who scours the depths of ATS looking for Zimmerman so he can spam his "JUSTICE FOR ZIMMERMAN!" thread

the facts and evidence are not all out yet.
there could be all kinds of facts and evidence we never heard of.
true zim is innocent until proven guilty but...
it took over 45 days to put zim in custody.
how many times have you heard of someone admittedly killing a man and going home free that very night?
without ever even obtaining a lawyer?
i sure hope the spd has pics and dna and reenacted the fight according to the timeline.
otherwise their reasons for letting zim go home that night
are as flimsy as the info in the affidavit.
