This is a Radio conversation between a US navy ship and the north west of Spain, with English subtitles. Interesting to see the way we interact with other countries. I sense a bit of arrogance...

That was really good! I am cracking up! Wonder if that was real or not!

Nice catch!

Here is a similar clip in English.Clip Probably a fake possibly based on a real event. I don't know. But I am surprised at the lack of seamanship the US Navy and US Coast Guard demonstrates from time to time so if it is real it wouldn't be that much of surprise.

i think virtually every country has told the american fleet to alter there course at some point according to some of the stuff i've read and the us navy even has a webpage dedicated to this myth

Sounds like this is around the first gulf war if the aircraft carrier is being escorted by 2 battleships.

Totally false. This never happened. It's really interesting how when people already have an attitude about an organization or country that they'll believe anything that supports their point of view, even totally false stuff like this. It's been done many times, and no matter how many times it's done, it still isn't true.

Uh, I think most posters either questioned it's authenticity or knew it was a fake, so good for you, you checked snopes, but we are not fools here.

THe video was entertaining none the less.

I did years ago read a NATO headed transcript detailing this very event shown to me by someone senior in the British navy
Fact or fiction, funny as hell

Last time I heard that joke was about ten years ago. It was a Canadian lighthouse off Nova Scotia.

United States Navy VS Spanish north coast? Sounded more like Boomhower vs Trejo.

I always wished this story was real. It's harmless and pokes fun at our arrogance, which is always appreciated by Americans who aren't delusional.

If the Spanish person on the radio is in a lighthouse or other shore facility how is he supposed to change course 15 degrees?
