A mate who became geologist told me years ago that there was a giant race, but they took 12 instead of 9 months to reproduce. He believed attrition was the winner.

First of all, I'm pretty sure Giants DID exist. Archeologist have found giant bones all over the world. That itself is evidence. Another theory, is that Giant were hybrids of Human and Extraterrestrials.(heard this on Ancient Aliens)
Even the bible talks about Giants. Goliath was a Giant. We all know that a Giant has to be at least 9 feet tall to be a Giant.
