At first glance I would say your full of it. but when rational thinking comes into the mix, there is something to it. I still lean on a Creator with omnipotent values. Another way 'I' see this, is that 'God' is all that is, the universal truth, the founder of all that is. Having said that, one could argue this a couple ways...... that 'God' created all and is all, and that all these proposed theories and notions are simply a definition of His workings. The index as it were. Those properties used to explain and assign properties to the Cosmos & ether. Or that this is a big vast all inclusive 'Program' as the author states. The 'Program' theory seems that it might be fraught with contradictions though. I subscribe that 'God' exists and is the author of all that is, rather than the 'Sims' world proposed by the OP and various like minded theorists. Entropy doesn't become more and more complex, rather it becomes more and more simple. I would site two people currently with ultra ingenious takes on all that is, a fella by the name of Rodin (Rodins coil) and Nassim Haramien. Both of these guys describe 'Sacred Geometry' and numbers, fractels and so much more, in an understandable way in which the Joe Sixpack can readily grasp and understand. As for complexity in all these 'Sims like' theories and abstract thinking process, they wipe away the confusion in a readily understandable format, and plain english. Granted, mathmatics are used, but even one 'weak' in mathamatics can readily get the 'gist' of the explenations. So to sumarize, I still think that the premise of this complex 'game or post future pre future whatever time abstract, is full of holes, and cow stuff.

I just do not understand how they see its computer code. Can someone point this out to me? Honestly I do not believe that Im living on an HDD among the rays of other HDD's. I could be wrong and I do not want to find out, if I do so be it.

This is an interesting theory

:-) Funny and insightful corollary to explain we are "embedded" in a "world" with built up rules that we are designed to follow by default, and even enforce without our consent. Have you read Carlos Castaneda's books? I think you might find interesting the demonstration of Carlos' Benefactor, Don Genaro. Our challenge is to keep up in this long journey to consciousness:

My PS3 kinda sucks compared to a computer that can generate all of this.

Maybe the PS4 will allow me to create my own universe and then I can be worshipped by billions and even release my own bible book.

Great post OP. Thanks.

Bonjour, I am the Merovingian. I love French wine, like I love the French language. I have sampled every language, French is my favorite. Fantastic language. Especially to curse with. Nom de dieu de putain de bordel de merde de saloperie de connard d'enculer ta mère. It's like wiping your arse with silk. I love it.

Welcome to part 2 of the Matrix. Let's get reloaded. lol

FOR FUN:
Let's imagine that there is indeed some validity to this idea that the universe;OUR Universe is actually a computer simulation. Now, I'M not an I.T. guy...and fairly low tech. in general, but suppose for a moment, that we advance enough technologically, to actually read and manipulate this universal program code...the same way we are beginning to read and manipulate our own genetic code.

Could WE actually become a self-aware universal computer virus of sorts; able to manipulate time and space in THIS universal reality?

Could there not already be other residents of this/our reality (i.e. aliens, other dimensional entities, etc.), whom are more technologically advanced than we and have already discovered and understand this code?

Could THIS account for their ability to seemingly translate and traverse space-time, rather than some hypothetically-advanced type of craft or craft propulsion?

The video is BS.

The Scientist in question doesn't believe we live in the matrix, as you're all thinking of it.

Or in a simulation.

There's no secret math code, he never claimed that.

C'mon people, read the thread.

Is it okay if we discuss the possibilities?

The idea is intriguing.

Okay I've watched the interview .. or whatever you might want to call it .. from beginning to end.

Can someone - in his own words - explain to me what precisely these theoretically constructed formulas and equations are and where precisely the "self correcting code elements" have been discovered ?

I seriously tried to grasp what he is saying but it's all very vague and I fail to get the full picture. In my understanding these equations have been theoretically introduced - by human beings - in order to explain abstract theories about even more abstract and theoretical filaments that the universe is SUPPOSED to me made of ( There has never been any evidence for the existence of strings or superstrings as of 2012 ).

So now he claims these equations - that have been introduced by said theoretical scientists - do contain self correcting source code that is exactly the same code as you would find in modern browsers. That doesn't make the slightest sense. Duh.

Supposedly, this guy found that some equations (physics) resembled computer code, which suggested the possibility that we could be living in a simulation.

It's a theory. Nothing more.

im a very loving person and i sometimes think i can feel my "loving" spreading..

i always say your mood is projected to those around you.. if someone is angry then the mood is low, someone is happy and people seem to pick up on it

and OP thx for sharing

This is just someone overthinking things as usual, nothing more, a theory IN a theory? And one that has not been observed yet on top of that, the mathmaticians really need to stop this already.

what an interesting simulation , one that allows us all to think and study and speculate on our existance and how this all came to be.
To then one day discover that we are in a simulation and we carry on studying and researching our existance.

Also an existane that allows us to expand our minds in every way , through knowledge and through personal experiences.

quite an intense simulation , I dont want to stop playing !

I don't have any hope of understanding that talk. But I will say that a lot of things in reality are virtual. For example, nothing ever actually touches anything else. In fact, nothing is actually discretely solid (macroscopic particles are the closest thing to discrete). Since atoms themselves have a particle/wave nature (protons/electrons), it follows that most everything has a dual nature, as seen here:
en.wikipedia.org ...

...Through the work of Max Planck, Albert Einstein, Louis de Broglie, Arthur Compton, Niels Bohr, and many others, current scientific theory holds that all particles also have a wave nature (and vice versa).[1] This phenomenon has been verified not only for elementary particles, but also for compound particles like atoms and even molecules. For macroscopic particles, because of their extremely small wavelengths, wave properties usually cannot be detected.

I don't understand all this much at all. But I do get the feeling that reality is a lot weirder than mom and pop thought. The idea that reality "out there" exists as a sort of probability is a weird thought.

And empty space isn't really empty. It's more like a probability cloud than it's a NULL value.

If we treat an atom like a classical object then it's indeed mostly empty. 99.9% or more. But subatomic reality follows different rules than macroscopic reality, so we cannot make this judgment.

In a way, all of us that're trying to see reality as a computer matrix are like people who project classical physics onto quantum physics. We're making an error because we can't stretch our minds enough.

I personally believe that reality will have many similarities to a simulation on a computer. This doesn't mean it's a simulation. It just means there're common things between different systems of nature.

What I find amazing is that 98.5% of the human is composed of just six elements: Oxygen, Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Carbon, Phosphorous, Calcium. These're all atomic elements on the periodic table that somehow arrange themselves in such a way to create a human being. How do these inanimate things know how to sort themselves into a "matrix" that produces the human being? How did life begin? Carl Sagan said it's not the atoms that go into a thing, it's how those atoms are put together. What do you think he meant?

We're related to each other biologically, to earth chemically and to the universe atomically.

So WHAT IF:
Space is really Cyberspace...couldn't worm holes possibly be created by worms?
Imagine if we could learn to understand this universal code, manipulate it from within, technologically,...and navigate space-time, the way we navigate the Internet.
Exotic spacecraft, propulsion systems, and time machines would be rendered moot.

thanks op. MIND = BLOWN

would a simulated world mean that everything is true about "put your mind to it and anything is possible"? i would assume if we are playing this like a video game we would infact control everything unless it was placed as a story mode...

If that's the case I'm going to "put my mind to it" and hope and pray and wish that I win the $50 million dollar tax free Canadian lottery tomorrow night.

I'll be back Saturday and tell you how that went; if you already don't know !

That's would be a big problem if one person actually forced the universe into doing something. It's like a public swimmng hole; once it's discovered, EVERYBODY can swim in it. You break the laws of the universe and you break it for everyone. Meaning, your $50 million lottery will be won by 50 million people! Here's your dollar back.
