So here is my question to those of you that doubt those that have experienced what they believe are alien abductions but you like to simplify as sleep paralysis.
How is it that the millions of people that experience this phenom pretty much experience almost the exact same scenario.
Electricity +check
Unable to scream +check
paralysis +check
being handled by strange beings +check
seeing the same beings approach them through a foggy light +check
being thrown back onto their bed +check
What are the symptoms?
A complaint of inability to move the trunk or limbs at sleep onset or upon awakening
Presence of brief episodes of partial or complete skeletal muscle paralysis
Episodes can be associated with hypnagogic hallucinations or dream-like mentation (act or use of the brain)
Polysomnography (a sleep recording) shows at least one of the following:
suppression of skeletal muscle tone
a sleep onset REM period
dissociated REM sleep
In some cases, when hypnogogic hallucinations are present, people feel that someone is in the room with them, some experience the feeling that someone or something is sitting on their chest and they feel impending death and suffocation. That has been called the “Hag Phenomena” and has been happening to people over the centuries. These things cause people much anxiety and terror, but there is no physical harm.

You forgot the possibility of Demon possession/attack. But I agree with your premise- same stuff different people- scary situations.

I feel that explains the symptoms that alleged "abductors" claim to have, pretty well!edit on March 21st 2012 by greeneyedleo because: (no reason given)

This is one of the things that i have experienced before multiple times in my life.
One thing i would like to point out is that I have not had the being thrown back onto my bed part nor checking to see if i have Electricity during the event.
This has happened to me around 10-12 times. It is rare and it started when i was 3, I am 25 now.
Most of the time this has happened I am unable to open my eyes, scream/talk/move. It is the worst feeling I have ever had. This is one of the reasons I never checked for Electricity being on.
During a few of the events I have either felt as there were beings in room with me other times I have felt a hand on a part of my body. I am still able to hear and only 2 times have I ever heard anyone talking, unable to know what was being said.
I dont know what movie someone could say this is from if its just a memory and im dreaming.
Just wanted to post what has happened to me during this. Looking forward to see what people can come up with for debunking.
