Surely not. Why pay to develop another limited capability? Thats only a bit more sensible than the madness that was Sea Typhoon.

If we didn't need the stealth we should have just bought a load of COTS F-18F/G and been done with it. When the US Navy replace the F-18 we could grab whatever they replace it with, also COTS.

F-35B will do. Lets just hope the americans don't cancel the B or we are high and dry.
