My primary private email account is a hotmail account. It's the same account that I opened up over a decade ago before gmail or most others were around. Are you saying that you wouldn't take me seriously based on which email provider I use?
Well guess what, back then it was either hotmail..or heaven forbid...yahoo!
Maybe this guys a scam artist, I don't know. Never heard of him. But judging someone on their email provider seems strange to say the least.

I work with emails all day long troubleshooting various problems from all walks of life. I do have to say that an email address is a quick way to stereotype a person. It is occasionally wrong but more often than not it is accurate. Then again I should say that is aligned with their computer knowledge and not knowledge in general.

You did read that wrong or I didnt give you enough information. and Relax ... I explained that it isnt a perfect corelation but can be useful in making snap judgements. I even attached a comic. People who have spent a lot of time with computers and the internet specifically tend to move through different emails. Not all but it is a tendency.
