Normally I lurk alot but I need to get this off my chest and wonder aloud about this and you guys are good as anyone else to wonder out loud to.
It is March 19th and under normal circumstances we would still be frozen solid up here in NW Minnesota with snow still falling. Granted we have had a mild winter but 66 degrees in the middle of the night with temps of 69-75 degrees F in the daytime is a little bit spooky so early in the year. It used to be I would call my relative in Anchorage AK and get a weather report; what he was getting up there we were sure to get some of several days later but that scheme hasn't worked since last spring. (Its is now 21 degrees in Anchorage, normal for them BTW)
I'm not into the HAARP thing...I realize I can do nothing about the weather, lol and I am glad the weather is so nice but seriously, WTF?
Is there something going on with the JET Stream perhaps? Any JET stream people out there? What about your weather?
No fearmongering here, just absolute, total and complete confoundment.

I live in Central Illinois.

Let's just say we decided to skip Spring and go right to Summer. In the beginning of March.

This is not normal, at all.

EDIT: I also love how the weather is nice, but at the same time... it doesn't feel right. The sun is scorching already, and it feels like it's in the middle of June.

Well you guys should just consider yourselves lucky. Here we are into the first day of spring and we (on the West coast of Washington State) are in the 30s with SNOW. Seriously. It snowed at my house this morning and it is dumping just South of us near seattle. We haven't left Winter yet and I pray it gets the heck out!!

I agree..we normally don't fire up the air conditioning until May. Right now we should still be firmly zipped up in snow gear way up here...spooky weird. What are your temps like there now?

I live in a rural area too (but have no farm experience) and was wondering if the Farmers were going to take a chance and plant a bit early....

Don't get me wrong... this is odd. Everyone's intuition is spiked by these strange weather patterns. The odds that this happening are staggering. Just like the odds of many other planetary/celestial events happening, and soon to happen.

What can we say? Should we argue? Should we run around in circles? Should we Occupy the jet stream?

I think the bigger picture is the liberation for us. the biggest picture being: impermanence. We all constantly check the "records," and compare norms. This tendency right here is the biggest source of fear. Things change! All the live long day things be a' changin...

Now, if we truly embrace and understand the nature of impermanence, then we can be peaceful. Even if this weather is leading to bleeding F10 FIRE tornados which cause earthquakes everywhere they go... we can be peaceful.

Don't be attached to the way things are. Be aware of them, and live your life, of course... but don't be too attached to your idea of what is "normal." Existence is very weird!

I like the idea of Occupying the Jet Stream...properly attired, that could be fun

Smart ones NO! tillage yes, but nobody is fool enough to plant before April 1st, Crop Insurance dont cover anything before that. And even then thats still early in my book for us.

I'm not getting too worried or worked up myself over these changes. I tend to sit back and go along for the ride. These are exciting times we are living in. Weather on is a believer or not of this 2012 phenomenon, we are to shortly find out first hand weather its all hype or not.

And that is Truly Exciting in itself.

hey there fellow MN'en, I'm here in Duluth, I can attest for the weather being warm here. current temp here is just over 55 with little to no wind, which is weird. considering I'm right here on the tip of lake superior. we have had a strange winter, with hardly any snow, except for that big three day storm, and a small one right after it. where about are you at? I know red lake has a little bit of snow still, but not much, I have to work up in virginia tomorrow through thursday, so it should be interesting to see how different the weather is away from the lake.

I think it's the earth shift that is happing that is effecting the weather changes. It is colder where I live and not very nice weather at all . I live in B.C Canada and it seems that Alberta is getting our weather this year..I think a lot will be effected by this.
