Now keep in mind that both of these men here are members of the Council On Foreign Relations...

Iran's brain trust is crazy, but they're not stupid. Talks of a strike against them are years old by now, and much of their nuclear development capability is underground anyway. They will still function after a strike. And even the IAEA and or own CIA heads can't confirm they are even seeking to build a weapon..

The most recent report, which represents the consensus of 16 U.S. intelligence agencies, indicates that Iran is pursuing research that could put it in a position to build a weapon, but that it has not sought to do so.

Link..

But in all reality it is quite possible that Iran already has a nuclear weapon, and I'm certain some factions of the Pentagon act on assuming this.. So then it comes back to "legality" of a strike, a preemptive action, just to make sure they don't decide to bomb the strongest and most war-mongering military country in the world, which also has 45 military bases surrounding their entire friggin' country! This Glenn Beck propaganda EMP attack threat from Iran BS is nothing more than just that, BS. Guess what, an EMP attack would not affect those 45 US bases surrounding Iran now, would it? The biggest EMP-like threat to the US or any region of the world is from the Sun, period..

Sorry, maybe I shoulda put this in the Rant forum. Good day!

If the Iranian regime is stupid enough to detonate a nuke high on the atmosphere the emp would take out all the bases electronics , and of they could do it over the USA it would fry all electronics that are not hard wired to protect against an emp . The damage a high altitude air burst can do is not to be underestimated , your conclusions are all wrong .

How could one seriously sit across a table from someone like him and not feel disgust? How could YOU SERIOUSLY ask this guy for war advice to be broadcasted to the masses. Would you not feel guilty?

I would like to see what the host replied to him with.

High in the altitude where? Any EMP affecting our bases surrounding their country would affect their country as well, assuming both do not already have anti-emp capabilites..

It would still be to there advantage to do so since we rely much more on electronics .

Well, first of all ... why shouldn't Iran develope a nuclear bomb?

The United States, achieved the ability by stealing information from Nazi Germany. Even the nazis, didn't want to do this, they were proping into hydrogen to obtain energy for self efficiency. In and by itself, not unsimilar to Iran today. And, they also had the on field experience of senaps gas, and weapons of mass destruction during WWI. Just like Iran, has similar experience from it's war with Iraq ... and of course, from weapons that the United States provided.

And, so ... the United States has given Israel nuclear weapons. Not only nuclear weapons, but it also trnasports enriched uranium and plutonium to Isreal, outside the proper channels, and none of this activity needs to be "reported".

Since WWII, the US, along with Isreal, has been mainly interrested in getting rich. Focusing on enriching themselves, by selling weapons to any god forsaken area in the world. The United States, and Israel, have actually "split" the world into different areas, and already decide which area should be controlled by who and how. This is the reason for the 5 nuclear superpowers, which always "appear" to be on odds, but never go head on head. Because they only thing they are argueing about, is minor issues ... they have already agreed on dividing the world amongst them.

And how does that make the United States decide who, and who can't have nuclear power? Or nuclear capability, even when weapons is concerned? The United States is the only nation that has used these weapons, and the only nations that has an agenda TO USE these weapons. Along it's allies, that it spit the world with.

Iran is just wanting to become a major league member ... living on their "Persian" dream, of a "Persian" empire.

Any moron with half a wit, should get the picture by now. If you want peace, you need to have a nuclear weapon ... because if you don't. The United States, Russia, France, England, Israel or China ... will provide these weapons to someone to kill you with them, and you'll be defenseless against it.

Anyone who thinks they can trust any of these superpowers further than they can throw them, needs to have their heads examined.

I am pretty sure military equipment is pritected against emp its not rocket science and even if its not protected, the basis on the effectiveness of an emp strike is guesswork.

Not entirely guesswork.....
A blast in the atmosphere over the atol where we blew a bunch of bombs in the fifties, nearly wiped out the communications across the pacific......
What saved things, was that the location of the blast was remote enough that the cone of it didnt really center on a lot of electronics....However three thousand miles away in Hawaii they did ecperience some damage.......
Move the blast to above a countrys cities, or bases and kablooey....
EMP is real.................and powerful......
A Farraday cage is about the very best protection from EMP.
Thugh grounding everything may help.
Ive heard it will burn out everything with copper wiroing because the wave moves across the copper and creates strong eddy currents inside which fry their circuits...or circuit beakers...

This Article PROVES Henry Kissenger is a LIAR............................

......." Israel’s intelligence services agree with American intelligence assessments that there is not enough proof to determine whether Iran is building a nuclear bomb, according to a report published Sunday in the New York Times. "

I am sorry, but Henry Kissinger cannot hear any of you over the sound of the awesome Nobel Peace Prize he has on his dresser.

www.nobelprize.org...

Kissinger has supported nothing but war during his lifetime, and to think he would do otherwise with Iran is silly. Kissinger is many terrible things, most of which will get me banned from ATS for foul language if I print them, but one thing he is not is a hypocrite. He has always practiced what he preached, and he has never made a secret about who and what he is. If he were still in government, Iran would be a giant irradiated crater right now.
