But afterward, an engineer from the adjacent Pillán aircraft factory noticed something bizarre while viewing his footage in slow motion.
This is a telltale sign that whatever these blobs are, they are not spacecraft. No one present saw it. Now before you say "yeah but it was flying too fast", human perception is quite amazing and even an object moving fast enough to just appear in a few frames of a video would have been quite obvious to people on site. There have been many, many instances of people watching videos after-the-fact and seeing strange things they didn't notice during filming, but they're almost always bugs or birds.

Insects, plus jets, does not equal U.F.O., if I can easily identify it as insects, it no longer is unidentified.

Ah ok. So basically we have nothing but that image. We dont even know if there really are 7 videos from 7 different angles.
Just wanted to make sure I had not missed anything!edit on March 15th 2012 by greeneyedleo because: (no reason given)
Are you a conspiracy theorist? Considering the source I'd say this case deserves more time to be studied and presented. Everyone in this thread who has already concluded it is a bug, a hoax, or whatever made up their mind due to prejudice, not evidence.

Just want to point out that this thread was linked in an article about this case on msnbc.com. Interesting story. Has anyone had any luck tracking down the supposed other vids?
For some of the denizens of the Above Top Secret online forum, the nature of the spot, or spots, was obvious: It's a bug, or bugs. An insect flying at regular speed through the foreground of the video could have been misinterpreted as an aircraft flying at super-fast speed through the background. One forum member posted several animated GIF images showing a similar effect.
I can barely keep up with the many responses to this story, so please be patient and I will respond more soon! I'll be in touch with the CEFAA about more information.
Will write more tomorrow - the CEFAA has all the videos and I'm sure they will make them available, plus other material. One step at a time.

"I went back to the CEFAA official re the bugs, and he said that's what they all thought at first when they got the first film (the one I posted). But when they went and got additional footage from very different vantage points which showed the same thing, they knew that was impossible. I don't think they're that stupid to claim this is a UFO if it was a bug, given that so many experts looked at it."
"Maybe we'll find out it's a bug, but I seriously doubt it," Kean told me. She said she took Bermudez and his fellow investigators at their word. "All I know is that people who know way more about photo analysis than I have ruled that out," Kean said.
